Polls seem to show that most Americans are pretty suspicious of a vaccine that is promised prior to the election.

It is unthinkable, that it is possible or that it is safe.

Let’s not **** around here, let’s not mince words, even to get a vaccine next year would mean cutting plenty of red tape and corners.

Ah, the ONLY thing that matters is the vaccine is not released until Biden is president so HE claims credit - and everyone who gets sick and dies for the delay are just necessary collateral political war damage civilian war deaths.

I 100% agree with you and that you are correct as that being 100% the reason. I have read members, including on this forum, stating (on other matters) they don't care how many Americans die, just so long as it gets rid of Trump. Try reading federal law. NO company that makes vaccines faces any legal liability whatsoever. The government covers all vaccine injuries and deaths. No company would make vaccines without this as there is no possible way to know the possible negative effects of a vaccine on people years or decades down the road.

Try reading federal law. NO company that makes vaccines faces any legal liability whatsoever. The government covers all vaccine injuries and deaths. I understand that government can waive liability under certain circumstances.

But that is not absolute, especially when it's subject to a change in government that can turn right around and go after someone who acted recklessly in pushing a vaccine for political purposes.

A criminal law may not be retroactive - ever. Not sure about a civil liability protection laws. If it did, it would send shock waves thru the industry and there would never be an American made vaccination again. Ever. There is no long term certainty on a vaccination even possible. But you might be correct as a legal matter.

The OP is just a question, not a statement, and a person should be able to make whatever decision they make concerning a disease of this nature being a very low rate of kill even if infected, where other contagious diseases devastate everyone infected such as polio and tetanus. Potentially, there could be criminal and/or civil action against parents who refuse the covid 19 vaccine.

If a person wanted to wait months or a year seeing how it affects other, I could certainly understand that thinking. Let other people step up to the firing line first - if that's what it is. Of course, maybe the risk of waiting is greater - particularly for the elderly and those of compromised health or immunity.

What his CDC guy said. The president more or less suggested Dr. Redfield needs to go to re-education camp, so that he will stop saying the vaccine won't be ready for wide use until mid-2021, and that masks are useful to prevent spread of the disease.

Btw, what's in it for Trump in making himself look stupid? How is he harmed politically if the vaccine comes out after adequate testing or if people wear masks as suggested?
