CNN acknowledged last week that the storming of the Capitol was planned prior to Trump’s speech, reporting that, “Evidence uncovered so far, including weapons and tactics seen on surveillance video, suggests a level of planning that has led investigators to believe the attack on the US Capitol was not just a protest that spiraled out of control, a federal law enforcement official says.”

The CNN report and the Washington Post article completely undermine the entire case Democrats made for impeaching Trump. As I previously noted, the riot at the Capitol was either planned in advance or inspired by President Trump’s speech. It simply cannot be both. That the media is starting to acknowledge the whole thing was planned in advance now, after the bogus impeachment, is no accident.

There is something about going lied to By the media that doesn’t bother progressives. CNN and WaPo both decided to report the truth after the damage has been done. Why?

The arrests this weekend of several people with alleged ties to far-right extremist groups, including the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys and the Three Percenters, suggest that the riot was not an entirely impulsive outburst of violence but an event instigated or exploited by organized groups. Hours of video posted on social media and pored over by investigators have focused on individuals in military-style gear moving together.

Self-styled militia members planned Capitol storming in advance of Jan. 6 - The Washington Post

Good news is this helps the Senate to drop the matter and we can all move on.

If WaPo actually admitted as such, you'd be providing a WaPo link, not Pajamas Media.
The Post never said anything of the kind.
The Capitol Siege was indeed "an event instigated or exploited by organized groups".
And those groups organized because they "believed in the Plan", a plan promoted by President Trump.

See this? You show that those that were intent to do harm had planned it ahead of time but they deny that reality.

PJ Media is about as truthful as a 3 year-old that tipped over mom's expensive vase...breaking it.., then ate all the cookies, turned on the hot water..flooded the house and then exclaimed..."The dog did it"

Pelosi’s half assed impeachment was “Trump incited insurrection”. Obviously with outside prior planning “by others“, objective people can not lay it on Trump. The truth is the impeachment was in response to her threat to Trump cabinet to take him out on the 25th amendment “or else”. The motive was and still us to try to thwart Trumps future political ambitions, and in Pelosi’s world any excuse will do.

BTW, the thread craps just prove TDS’ers have no faith in their arguments!

So you're denying that people had planned to do something ahead of time and that authorities were not tracking it?

Donald Trump was inciting the Capitol riot from before the election by continually lying about the election being rigged. Then he ramped up his rhetoric to increasingly tense levels following the election. He incited (as in, directly caused) the planning that went into the insurrection, and then supplied extra fuel and a lit match with his speech on the 6th. The idea that we think Trump was doing nothing prior to the 6th, and then on the 6th whipped an otherwise peaceful crowd up into a frenzy is just characteristic of the way you guys misread and (it often appears, intentionally) misrepresent the claims of your opponents.

You forgot to link a Washington Post article doing what you claim. Enough of your boring ass lies.

It is not surprising that someone who has just told a head-slappingly stupid lie would find the truth "not helpful."

Ironic that you are complaining about misleading journalism with misleading journalism. How Republican of you.

This is no revelation. No one is suggesting that a simple Trump speech started the riot. These things are always far more complicated than the face value suggests. It was merely a battle cry in a war HE substantially created. The whole thing was premised on the lie that he created, perpetrated, raised the temperature thereon and finally lit the match.

Had Trump done what all American presidents previously had done, which is to acknowledge the loss in November or after he had exhausted all of his legal options, the riot never would have happened. Instead, he asked people to come to Washington and fight.

Lies only matter if it’s lies told about the legitimacy of the past election. It’s very difficult to keep telling the lie when the FBI is debunking it. Are they gonna say the FBI is lying?

So you're denying that people had planned to do something ahead of time and that authorities were not tracking it?
You say that as if it absolves trump of responsibility. No doubt some were planning that anyway but trump incited the mob. And why do you think people were planning to storm it ahead of time? Because trump (there's that name) told his cult following the election was stolen.

So it is “Guilty of existing?” Pleeezzzzeeee...

mmmmm, thats odd, you seemed to have missed the part where trump incited a mob that day and for months leading up to it.

It is definitely difficult to make a case for criminal incitement against Donald Trump, or indeed, anyone who does not say in no uncertain terms "I am calling on all of you, right here and now, to go and commit violent criminal action! I am not joking or making an ironic statement. Go commit criminal acts of violence against my political opponents in Congress so we can stop the steal of the election and so that I may remain President of the United States." Because he did not do that.

However, here is what we can say:

Donald Trump invited a veritable army of supporters to D.C. for a rally on the day and hour that both Chambers of Congress and Vice President Pence were supposed to certify the election results. He then used language no departing President should use to fire up the crowd, and to give those who had pre-planned their violent acts his imprimatur. And then, as thousands of his supporters breached the Capitol to attempt some form putsch, he refrained from calling in the National Guard, watching the attacks go on with depraved indifference. Instead, it was Mike Pence who called in the Guard.

So did Donald Trump plainly and directly incite the violence in such a manner that he could be convicted in Court for it? Perhaps not. But did he provide a smokescreen and cover for those who had pre-planned a violent attack? Yes he did.

Leo, let me just say I like you. You remind of the Heritage Foundation. the old Heritage anyway. they used to try to push their agenda without lying. they kept their integrity. Nowadays, conservative media doesnt even try to spin anything, they just lie. You're smart enough to not try to completely whitewash trump's treason. you're simply try to "round off the corners" of the truth. the thing your very impressive post leaves out is the two months of "FRAUD" "STOP THE STEAL" "IT WAS RIGGED". I have no doubt people were planning to attack our democracy before the march. remember the part about the two months of "FRAUD" "STOP THE STEAL" "IT WAS RIGGED". But I'm also sure alot of semi-normal and semi-decent conservatives were caught up in the frenzy trump created. The people planning to attack our democracy needed a mob. Trump gave them that mob.

Anyhoo, in addition to his treason, he should be convicted for not calling the national guard and his depraved indifference.
