Now that the star of the left has spoken, what should we do about her plans for us all?

The problem may be that she recognizes how brainwashed her opposition is.

Did you mean to have a bit of a threatening tone to the thread title? What should you do? Maybe send a donation to her Republican challenger in 2020.....that oughta do it!

In her district does a republican even run against the democrat?

AOC has recommended the Green New Deal, harking back to FDR's failure to end the Great Depression. Now AOC wants to create a New Great Depression, so that icky human beings will not burn fossil fuels or ride in airplanes or god forbid, escape social justice!!!!!

Her cow genocide comments are a concern to me. Her elimination of fossil fuels and nuclear energy concerns me. Is there any level this brainwashed socialist will not stoop to?

Eat more beans and cabbage, it's up to human's to replace cow fart methane with human farts. :lamo

Beyond that, let her talk.

I can only imagine the depth of crazy from the right when the dems are in the white house next election and maybe even control the senate. Keep screaming the sky is falling while you deny science.
Mostly, you WILL have to imagine, because the right produces ideas that create productivity and prosperity and personal freedom, not killing cows and grounding airplanes.

You forgot about the babies we kill, roast and eat.

Did anyone else notice the other little bit of weaponized historical revisionism the OP slipped in there?

You forgot about the babies we kill, roast and eat.
You ROAST them! I thought tyou grilled them at walled community block parties hosted by Nancy Pelosi.

Now that the star of the left has spoken, what should we do about her plans for us all?

we should start at least two dozen AOC threads each day.

Aoc is an attractive woman, but a blatherling idiot. I like her personality, but she knows nothing at all of the real world.

I think she knows a bit more than you or me. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't her butt sitting in one of those seats in congress? Nothing is possible, until it's tried. That's the way the real world works.

The GND is the Democratic house's plan to deal with environment, energy and a few other issues.
It is not a bill, it is a resolution, a plan.
Of course, everyone has some agreement, disagreement and something in the middle but the important thing to remember is that this is something Republicans failed to do in the last few sessions of Congress. The last time they tried was the Newt Gingrich Contract on America...err...Contract FOR America :lamo

But instead of following the Gingrich Rule*, both sides at least attempted to work together on it.

(*ie. do not give an inch on anything - its all or nothing!)

The founders of this great nation knew that neither side would ever get everything that they wanted. The idea is supposed to be that each side recognizes that the other side also wants what is best for the nation, even if they go about it differently. The idea is, in the end both sides figure out what they have as common ground and the result would be stuff that both sides could agree on.

Instead of mounting fallacious and hysterical arguments and predictions of death, destruction, and bankruptcy, try to examine the problems and solutions put forward and offer some kind of measured, rational and civilized response instead of all the nonsensical claims that it will destroy the nation.

Yeah, of course...she's a total flake, as anyone can see in this little thought exercise...

The Green New Deal is a total joke. AOC is a total joke. Look at reality. 1. We, the country, cannot afford the Green New Deal. The estimates run upwards of about 42 Trillion over 10 years. Our government doesn't bring in that much and this does not include the current budget we already spend, already in the 4 trillion a year range. When you ask AOC, she either ignores the guestion or says, "tax the wealthy" she has no idea who pays what. Fact, the bottom 50% of taxpayers pay 3% of the income tax, the top 10% pay 70% of the income tax. The top 1% pays between 30-40% of income tax. So you tell me what is "their fair share". In regard to the Green deal portion of the plan, we nor any other nation can come close to going green unless you include nuclear power, and the green freaks don't like nuclear. The plan is for 10 years, not a chance. Lets say we go green, without China, Russia and India our contribution would not make a difference.

The share of reported income earned by the top 1 percent of taxpayers rose slightly to 20.7 percent in 2015. Their share of federal individual income taxes fell slightly, to 39.0 percent.

The top 1 percent paid a greater share of individual income taxes (39.0 percent) than the bottom 90 percent combined (29.4 percent).
The top 1 percent of taxpayers paid a 27.1 percent individual income tax rate, which is more than seven times higher than taxpayers in the bottom 50 percent (3.6 percent).

The top 1% includes the top 0.1%. The results show how steeply progressive the U.S. income tax remains. For 2018, households in the top 20% will have income of about $150,000 or more and 52% of total income, about the same as in 2017. But they will pay about 87% of income taxes, up from about 84% last year. As of Apr 6, 2018

If you Think AOC knows a lot, you need to watch her speeches and interviews. If that doesn't change your mind try doing some research on financial facts, if that doesn't change your mind you are hopeless.

Here Is Who Really Pays the Most Taxes in America | The National Interest

Read this article from 2017, you get a real feel for who pays what. You also can figure out who will have to play more to get the money AOC and others on the left want to spend on green deals and free healtcare and college. It will not be just the "rich" because the rich don't have enough.

My understanding is the President of the US does not direct his own finances nor his business interest while he is President. Plus the white house doesn't write legislation that it presents to Congress. Congress must move the legislation.

Aoc is an attractive woman, but a blatherling idiot. I like her personality, but she knows nothing at all of the real world.

She might know more about the world we live in, (millennials now largest demographic) that some conservatives do....just saying.;)

In her district does a republican even run against the democrat?

Anthony Pappas ran as a Republican in her district and got about 13% of the vote. Working Families did nearly as well. It's not a district where the Republican "message" sells very well.

Very similar to the district where I grew up. The real election contest was the democratic primary.

Yes. And she took down a very strong candidate, who like a few posters here assumed there's no change in the air.
