And it's Joe Wilson.

BOB NOVAK, My Leak Case Testimony: 'I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in 'Who's Who in America'...

http://drudgereport.com/

Despite the warnings I and others gave, to wait for the evidence, the left and many of them right here invested everything in this. And lost it all. How hilarious.

You really need to stop trusting those conservative news sources. How many times must they be wrong before you realize?

Turns out Karl Rove told Novak the identity of Plame.

Reliable Source:http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060712/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/cia_leak_novak

Nope, he look'd up the name and his contact at the CIA confirmed it. Then in a conversation Rove merely agreed with it. His primary source that Wilson's wife worked at the CIA is still unnamed. But he got the NAME from Wilson, from his who's who's listing.

""The primary source was not a political operative," he said, and he mentioned Plame's role in the middle of a conversation about other subjects. "I don't believe it was part of a plan to discredit anybody."
A spokesman for Rove, Mark Corallo, said Novak's account of phoning Rove confirms what the White House strategist has said. "Karl never reached out to any reporters," Corallo said. "They called him."
Novak said he and Rove had differing recollections of what happened when he asked about Plame. Novak recalls Rove saying, "Oh, you know that, too?" Rove, according to Corallo, has said he responded, "I've heard that, too.""

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/11/AR2006071100903_pf.html

Libby's attorney has 5 witnesses lined up to testify that they too knew she worked at the CIA, that is was not a secret and thier source was also Wilson.

What a waste of time an investigative resources.

The fact remains that Rove told Novak the identity of Plame, and then Bill Harlow had confirmed it.

"In a syndicated column to be released Wednesday, Novak says he told Fitzgerald in early 2004 that Rove and then-CIA spokesman Bill Harlow had confirmed information about Plame."

Your original post about Wilson being the source is wrong.

Two people (Novak and Cooper) identifying Rove as a source is not a waste of time in the investigation.

Not exactly, Novack told Rove, Rove already knew.

Your original post about Wilson being the source is wrong.

It's tounge in cheek, don't you get it? Yet true. It, her NAME, actually came from Wilson, through what he submitted to Who's Who. That's where Novak learned her name after his primary source said she had something to do with Wilson getting sent on the mission (which was one of Wilson's lies when he denied it), Novak went and looked up her name. I haven't seen anyone saying Rove ever even said her name.

Two people (Novak and Cooper) identifying Rove as a source is not a waste of time in the investigation.

Source for what? There was no crime. The investigation has turned up no underlying crime. And the claims that the adminsitration was engage in an active campaign to out Plame has been shown a total fabrication but some in the media, primarily Hardball and David Schuster.

Anyone remember this:

............ Q Given -- given recent developments in the CIA leak case, particularly Vice President Cheney's discussions with the investigators, do you still stand by what you said several months ago, a suggestion that it might be difficult to identify anybody who leaked the agent's name?

THE PRESIDENT: That's up to --

Q And, and, do you stand by your pledge to fire anyone found to have done so?

THE PRESIDENT: Yes. And that's up to the U.S. Attorney to find the facts. "

and yet....Rove still works there, has security clearance, and the presidents ear....hmmm...I wonder why?

Stinger, there's nothing in your first link that says anything about Joe Wilson being Novak's source?!

Aren't you the least bit embarrassed?

Hoot, this is what Stinger is claiming. I think Novak learned that Wilson's wife worked at the CIA. He then went to "Who's Who . . ." and looked up Joe Wilson. Under Joe Wilson's name, he indicates he is married to Valerie Plame.

Now, for some conservatives, this is their way of saying that Joe Wilson outed his own wife. Um, no. Valerie Plame wasn't hiding her NAME--she was hiding the fact that she worked at CIA; hence the made-up name of the company she supposedly worked for.

Walter Pincus was on Hardball last night and he made a very good comment about Joe Wilson. He pointed out that at the time Joe Wilson went to Niger, he had no reason to be upset with George Bush. This was prior to the war. It was only after the war that Joe Wilson published his findings. And it was after his wife was outed that he showed support to John Kerry. If anyone can show me that Wilson provided support to Kerry prior to July 2003, I will worship them.

Who gave the name of his wife to Who's Who? Who was the original source for the Who's Who article? Where did Novak get Plame's name? Read the title of this thread and then read my previous responses.

The fact is there was no crime, you guys invested everything in this a lost your shirts. And now look foolish STILL trying to prove someone did something, anything.

Rove didn't leak her name, no one except Wilson did and Novak got it from there. No law was broken. And it wasn't secret in the first place. So who cares anyway?

Give it up.

My dear, Aps....It's difficult for me to believe that this 'conservative way of thinking' is logical and actually makes sense?! Do people believe this justifies the outing of Wilson's wife?

I fear there is no hope for this nation if this is the conservative mind set.

Oh, is that what Drudge says? Well it must be true. Let's forget the whole thing. I can see why Bob Nofacts was so hesitant on talking about the whole matter.

One other thing. Your link is incorrect. No mention of this story as of 10:40 P.M EST 7/12

Yes, and Novak. And if you are saying it's not true then prove it.

Yeah I bet you do now that it has all come crumbling down on you.

I can see why Bob Nofacts was so hesitant on talking about the whole matter.

Why? His stated reason was that until he was notified by the Special Prosecutor he was prevented from discussing it. The fact is no one broke the law.

That the American people would know the truth about Wilson's trip, yes. And she wasn't outted, her employment and marriage were no secret. The fact is no one "named" Plame other than Wilson saying in public he was married to Valerie Plame.

I fear there is no hope for this nation if this is the conservative mind set.

And there is hope when the liberal mind supports a man who lied to the public, in chahoots with his wife, to commit a fraud on you? The only person who lied was Wilson, he got caught, yet you still somehow are desperate to believe him.

How can I disprove a story that didn't exist from your link?

I have noticed that a great many people keep refering to "her name." the particular laws in question, are not concerned simply with "naiming" someone in classified and covert status, but IDENTIFYING.

this means, the law can be broke, even if no one ever actually learned her name.

"The wife of Joe Wilson" identifies Plame, even though her name was not used.

What's more, even if an agent were named in the past, or in some other way, individual actors in the US government STILL would not have the authroity to identify, or to confirm the identity of persons with covert and classified status.

That means, even if everyone in the press and public knew who she was, it is still against the law to identify someone until the covert status is revoked, either by the covert agent or by the US government.

At minimum, even if no law was actually broken, this was STILL irresponsible behavior for people in positions of trust and power.

Even IF Joe WIlson was a political hack, this administration should have taken their lumps for the benefit of the country. Sacrificing national security for political advantage by our government, should not be tolerated.

It wasn't, the rest of your post is specious because it wasn't.

Give it up.

Perhaps if you bothered to read the news or watch his interviews. If you claim Rove was the one who told Novak she worked there and her name then prove it. Find your own evidence I don't work for you.

Novak was on the radio this afternoon. He said he got her name off "who's who in america"

He also said the lead prosecutor knew just about all his information at the very beginning and held it close to the vest for so long. The reason the prosecutor didnt indict anyone because there was no reason for it.
He refused to comment on Libby for some reason or other.

Anyway thats what he said.

So what's your point? If some tells you that a CIA operative is married to aps and if you go to my college alumni book, it shows that I am married to xyz. Does my entry mean that I outed my own husband? Again, you all are so ridiculous. Valerie Plame's name was not a secret--it was her job at the CIA that was. Maybe I'm just talking to a wall. You conservatives get somethig in your head, and nothing can change your minds no matter how wrong or inaccurate your information is. LOL

Why would I waste my time watching Nofacts?

You know the rules: you make the claim - you provide the proof. You have failed on the latter, again.

So you are making the factual claim that it was Rove who gave Novak Plame's name.

Well since you are too lazy to inform yourself on a WIDELY reported story

"In my sworn testimony, I said what I have contended in my columns and on television: Joe Wilson's wife's role in instituting her husband's mission was revealed to me in the middle of a long interview with an official who I have previously said was not a political gunslinger. After the federal investigation was announced, he told me through a third party that the disclosure was inadvertent on his part. Following my interview with the primary source, I sought out the second administration official and the CIA spokesman for confirmation.

I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in Who's Who in America."

You are factually wrong once again. And you are wasting OUR time because you refuse to educate yourself before coming here and presenting baseless arguements. All of this has been WIDELY covered across ALL The networks and news sources.

Stinger,

My point was you listed a source (Drudge) that had no mention of the Nofacts story you were referencing.

I've been having a grand time in the two big liars, Rove and Nofacts trying to remember which version of their lies they told to whom, when, where and how... I trust neither of them as far as I can throw them.

Can't wait for the trial! :smash:

Well at least I got my information from the horses mouth. Novak made quite a strong case about what he got and where he got it. He also made some strong points about the prosecutor you cant touch either. I was just informing as to what he said. I wasn't exactly expecting the fruit of truth to take purchase on your barren mind anyway.

I have no idea where you are coming up with your conclusions. When did I attempt to attack Novak's comments about the prosecutor? Could you please tell me where I did that? This "barren mind" has no idea.
