My attitude towards Trump is the result of my awareness of his actions. For instance, I'll give you one example, I am angry that his lawyers have argued in court that Trump is immune from criminal investigation. Does this not concern you that Trump thinks he is above the law?
I don't like waste, fraud, and corruption on anyone's part. That's why I support the whistleblower laws. Do you support the whistleblower laws?
There's lots of people that could replace him. What a silly assertion. We have 327 million citizens.
It is clear to me that you are not well acquainted with abstract things like the Rule of Law, and the U.S. Constitution, and our legal system in general, you only care about practical things. I think it may be a waste of my time to try and explain to you why the Rule of Law is important. It's certainly going to be a waste of my time if you are going to stubbornly resist learning anything new. My only advice is for you to set aside time and read about our history, our laws, the Constitution, and the histories of other peoples as well.
Have you ever been sued? Have you ever had to go to court? Have you ever had a dispute with your neighbor? There's so much about our lives that depend on the rule of law, and courts, and judges, and the constitutional order, and so on. Have you ever been a victim of a crime. Has anyone ever defrauded you? Imagine what your life be like if you had no reassurance that wrongdoers would get caught, that someone could just pay a bribe and whatever complaint you had would just vanish into thin air. This happens, every day, in places where the Rule of Law does not exist. We know what societies are like that do not have the Rule of Law. They are miserable places to live.
Zelensky: I would like to tell you that I also have quite a few Ukrainian friends that live in the United States. Actually last time I traveled to the United States, I stated in New York near Central Park and I stayed at the Trump Tower. I will talk to them and I hope to see them again in the future. I also wanted to thank you for your invitation to visit the United States, specifically Washington DC. On the other hand, I also wanted to ensure you that we will be very serious about the case and will work on the investigation. As to the economy, there is much potential for our two countries and one of the issues that is very important for Ukraine is energy independence. I believe we can be very successful and cooperating on energy independence with United States. We are already working on cooperation. We are buying American oil but I am very hopeful for a future meeting. We will have more time and more opportunities to discuss these opportunities and get to know each other better. I would like to thank you very much for your support.
Trump: Good. Well., thank you very much and I appreciate that. I will tell Rudy and Attorney General Barr to call. Thank you. Whenever you would like to come to the White House, feel free to call. Give us a date and we'll work that out. I look forward to seeing you.
Zelensky: Thank you very much. I would be very happy to come and would be happy to meet with you personally and get to know you better. I am looking forward to our meeting and I would also like to invite you to visit Ukraine and come to the city of Kiev which is a beautiful city. We have a beautiful country which would welcome you. On the other hand, I believe that on September 1 we will be in Poland and we can meet in Poland hopefully. After that it might be a very good idea for you to travel to Ukraine. We can either take my plane and go to Ukraine or we can take your plane, which is probably much better than mine.
Trump: Okay, we can work that out. I look forward to seeing you in Washington and maybe in Poland because I think we are going to be there at that time.
Zelensky: Thank you very much Mr. President.
Trump: Congratulations on a fantastic job you've done. The whole world was watching. I'm not sure it was so much of an upset but congratulations.
Zelensky: Thank you Mr. President bye-bye.
You are writing a lot of words or copying and pasting a lot of words trying to get rid of Trump, why? Looks like establishing a good relationship. None of those say what you want them to say and nothing is ever going to change your mind. Too bad you don't focus on your own party instead of focusing on a non issue. You will have a chance to get rid of Trump in November 2020, think that Impeachment is going to do it?
Trump has done nothing wrong that has hurt you, your family, or the country. you hate Trump and that is the real problem here basic lack of civics understanding.
Your Democratic House has done more harm to this country than Trump, Hell, Hillary did more to hurt the country than Trump has ever done. the results speak volumes, result you want to ignore and focus on a non issue, Ukraine
I see no reason to continue this discussion with you as your mind is made up. I am not the issue, I have indeed been in federal court and hearsay is never admissible nor are rumors, speculation, or opinions. you obviously have never been before a judge. This case has no merit. Why don't you focus on the rule of law and not what the media tells you
This is not true...
Trump's attacks on the Rule of Law, and his attacks on our institutions are doing profound, longlasting damage to our country. I think there is less of a direct impact than say, a cut in taxes or something, but I consider the Rule of Law and our Institutions to be more important in the run. The problem isn't those practical things like tax cuts, it's those abstract that Trump and his supporters are oblivious to, and are, in fact, MORE important than specific policy goals.
I don't agree with everything either party does, but you have an obligation to accept what is done so long as it's done through the system our founding fathers created.
For some reason you believe Democratic policies are so terrible that it gives you and Trump the right to break the rules. Why so? What specific things can you point to that give you this right?
You don't know what you're talking about.

You said I was reading into the transcript something that wasn't said.
Well, I just posted the transcript.
Explain to me why you think that when Trump said, "I would you to do us a favor though...", that somehow this was not an attempt on Trump's part to get Zelenskyy to trade an investigation into the Crowdstrike conspiracy theory in exchange for sale of more javelin missiles.
Explain it to me. Explain to me YOUR reasoning, not the rantings of idiots like Limbaugh or Hannity. I want YOUR reasoning as to why you think Trump was not trying to get Zelenskyy to investigate Crowdstrike in exchange for more javelin missile sales.
In addition, refer to the part where Trump says, "The other thing, There's a lot of talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it...It sounds horrible to me.", and explain to me how this is not Trump tying an investigation into the Bidens to the sale of more javelin missiles. Explain to me YOUR reasoning. Don't talk to me about other crap like Clinton or the Democrats. Focus on the facts of this transcript.
What do you think I was reading into the transcript that wasn't said? Be specific
Nothing you post would ever hold up in court, you are buying what you are being told, too bad hate drives your thought process. I do know exactly what I am talking about as I have experienced first hand hearsay and how it was handled in court. Going to stop here, we are done! Book smart street stupid people all over the place
By the way I grew up a staunch Democrat and probably have voted for more Democrats than you Republicans. This Democratic Party doesn't represent constitutional values or the country our founders created
Watch the House committee hearing today, or a recording of it. A good start would be the phone call transcript which recording Trump saying, "I would like you to do us a favor though.." when Zelenskyy asked for more javelin missile sales.
The testimony of Sondland and Taylor from a few weeks ago is also particularly helpful to prove the case against Trump.
It is a profound abuse of office for a President to extort a foreign country into investigating one of his main political rivals in exchange for an official act or benefit from the U.S. government.
This idea, that a public official should refrain from engaging in acts of corruption, has nothing to do with the Democratic or Republican parties. It's a non-partisan issue.
Suppose that a low-ranking government official, the head of a branch Social Security office, intervened to halt a widow’s long-approved Social Security payments. The widow, alarmed that without that income she might lose her home, would call the branch director to ask for help.
“I’d like you to do me a favor, though,” the director might respond. He would suggest that her Social Security payments could resume, but he’d like the widow to give him her late husband’s collection of rare coins.
Everybody would see that as an outrageous abuse of power. Whether we’re Republicans or Democrats, we would all recognize that it’s inappropriate for a federal official to use his or her power over government resources to extract personal benefits. The Social Security official could say that the payments eventually resumed, or assert that the widow’s son had engaged in skulduggery — but he’d be out of a job in an instant and would face a criminal investigation.
The favor is your interpretation, your party is beating a dead horse and issue
Your statement, that "hearsay is never admissible" is WRONG. You were WRONG. You don't know what you're talking about, and if you were an honest person you'd say something like, "You know what? I was wrong I was unaware of these exceptions to the rule against hearsay as it pertains to the federal rules of evidence."
I don't care that you hate Democrats. I care that you hate Democrats more than you love our Republic.
That's fine. I accept that. And I ask you this:
What other way can you interpret: "I WOULD LIKE TO DO US A FAVOR THOUGH"?
How gullible do you have to be to believe this wasn't a request for a favor. It's right there in front of you, but who are you gonna believe? Trump or your lyin eyes?
Hearsay will never convict anyone when it comes from someone who benefited or would benefit from prosecution. You want to get rid of Trump, we have elections to do that not trumped up charges that carry now weight. It is well within Trump's right to ask for a favor. Ukraine got the money what is your issue? why do you want U.S. taxpayer dollars to go to Ukraine in the first place?
Did Ukraine get the money? Did Trump have the authority to freeze the money? what exactly did Trump get from that so called favor?
LOL! You must be joking! Yeah, Trump speaks to foreign governments and makes requests through press conferences with our media. Holy crap, that is out there, man. That's what you believe? Talking to the media, making a jab, is the way that would be communicated??? Wow, that's just insane. Hey, maybe he sings in the shower and makes requests that way too, HA HA!Afraid you're the one who doesn't understand what the emoluments clause is and reasoning and history behind it. Not a single incident you say of this President accepting or soliciting any kind foreign aid to aid in his election. What do you call these then?
Why do you support Marxist criminals? What happened in your life that turned you pro-criminal?
It's not a warped view at all. If there are good reasons why the aid was blocked that have nothing to do with the alleged QPQ, get Mulvaney under oath and those who worked with him, and Rudy, and Trump, to tell us these reasons, under oath. Why in the hell is testifying to the truth under oath a warped sense of logic, if what we want is the truth.
And I'm certainly willing to agree to the idea that if Trump stops cowering behind the skirt of executive privilege that the GOP can call anyone with information relevant to the case. Nellie Ohr is an absurd request, given I haven't seen her name anywhere in this case at any level. But within bounds, OK.
What is the other side? The facts are very simple and have no sides.
There's no QPQ, so what's the point? The transcript makes that clear.
It sounds like that's definitely the plan:I disagree with McConnell not taking it up.
he should take it up and then everyone vote to acquit.
that is the only way to end this thing once and for all.
McConnell said:I don’t think there’s any question that we have to take up the matter. The rules of impeachment are very clear, we’ll have to have a trial. My own view is that we should give people the opportunity to put the case on,” McConnell told reporters after being asked about dismissing the articles of impeachment.
Let me tell you what that means. It means the day we take it up, we go into sessions six days a week from 12:30 until 6:30 and can’t say anything. The House are the prosecutors, the president’s lawyers are the defense attorneys. They hash it out, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court comes in and he rules. We basically hear the case, and then we have to come to a verdict. That will probably be six or eight weeks’ process
Yes, he literally asked them to do us a favor and investigate foreign interference into the 2016 election. Oh, the horror!Trump literally said, "I would like you to do us a favor though...", immediately after Zelenskyy requested a sale of more javelin missiles.
This was very clearly a request for a QPQ.
Then why are you doing it? Are you a GRU troll? You do know it is seditious to question the integrity of our institutions without evidence. It is something I would expect from GRU trolls.
That makes him President. If you respect the Constitution as you say, respect the result and stop trying to undermine the office. Before you pontificate that Trump had a popular mandate, remember that millions more voted for H. Clinton. "The People" are not the members of the electoral college.
