If you were to listen to the main stream media and the politicians(and twitter) you would think Trump was some fringe lunatic for making those comments. then a poll like this shows he is EXACTLY the opposite and you realize how the media et. al. try to manipulate the facts and opinions on these issues. this is the SAME media that says Hillary will wipe the floor with Trump.

One has to actively suppress fundamental truths to not see the sensible logic of Trump's argument.

P.S. support is probably like 85%, some people just did not want to be labeled racist

Americans as a group but particularly "conservatives"have always been terrified by just about everything from AID's, UFO's, Ebola, Italians, Germanys, Irish, Chinese, Japanese domination, Russians, Witches, Booze etc.

What you point at is a HUMAN thing and plays out throughout human history and in every culture. Sometimes it's justified by events, sometimes not. However, no need to be suicidal just to battle human nature. Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you. :mrgreen:

Yes, actually it is, Jet. In my mind, it doesn't mean it's worthy of implementation, but it does mean that the public is not happy with the politically correct rhetoric that's come down from the White House.

There's a reason why Rasmussen Reports - the authors of that survey - are viewed in a dim light when it comes to their accuracy...and their results are almost always skewed towards the kind of results that conservatives want to see. From their own statement:

Data for Rasmussen Reports survey research is collected using an automated polling methodology.
Generally speaking, the automated survey process is identical to that of traditional, operator-assisted research firms such as Gallup, Harris, and Roper. However, automated polling systems use a single, digitally-recorded, voice to conduct the interview while traditional firms rely on phone banks, boiler rooms, and operator-assisted technology.
For tracking surveys such as the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll, the automated technology insures that every respondent hears exactly the same question, from the exact same voice, asked with the exact same inflection every single time.
All Rasmussen Reports' survey questions are digitally recorded and fed to a calling program that determines question order, branching options, and other factors. Calls are placed to randomly-selected phone numbers through a process that insures appropriate geographic representation. Typically, calls are placed from 5 pm to 9 pm local time during the week. Saturday calls are made from 11 am to 6 pm local time and Sunday calls from 1 pm to 9 pm local time.
To reach those who have abandoned traditional landline telephones, Rasmussen Reports uses an online survey tool to interview randomly selected participants from a demographically diverse panel.

Read the article in the first reference - there's a reason why Rasmussen Reports is not a trustworthy source of polling data.

Look Maggie... I don't know what's done it but you've become pretty extreme lately.

The fact that people would seek to discriminate and support trumps position against innocent people solely based on religion should scare you, not think he's been vindicated.

Radial Islam is an issue sure, but regular muslims are not and I won't buy into hateful nonsense that suggests we should target them.

And immediately after 9/11, the approval rating for George W. Bush was above 90%. Roughly four years later, it was about 45%. People are irrationally motivated by fear. That is reflected by this poll and it is being pounced upon by Donald Trump in order to solidy his base.

Since 9/11, there have been a total of seven islamic terrorist attacks in the U.S. So that's a total seven attacks...from nine total people...over the course of 14 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Islamist_terrorist_attacks

First, Maggie has been vindicated, not him. Don't know about him. I have believed for some time now that the American people are being ridiculed by the left, by the media,by the White House.

We are at war with radical Muslims. That is truth. Calling those people who question letting 10,000 refugees into this country "afraid" "scaredy cats" "Islamaphobes" "radicals" and any other adjective besides "concerned and in need of reassurance" is hyperbole. An attempt to silence dissent. It makes me uncomfortable. I have NEVER BEFORE seen this tactics applied to Main Street.

This is all just crazy.

Americans killed 14,000+ Americans last year. Drunk drivers "accidentally" killed more.




But we're going to save the most extreme measure for muslims......

If we're so concerned about miniscule marginal risks, why not take action about much larger ones? Why not strip people of citizenship upon their first DUI? Impose 20 years in prison for smoking a cigarette in a place where someone else might inhale the smoke? Execute individuals who eat more than 4,000 calories in a day while only burning off 2,000?

After all, they're all contributing to things that kill WAY more Americans than terrorists ever will (let alone the tiny fraction of the 1,600,000,000 muslims around the world who actually are terrorists).
