...since he hasn't confirmed that he's running for President in 2024, but this is a preview of what his platform will include.

Former President Donald Trump is laying out a 2.0 vision on how he would make America great again, again, offering Just the News his plan for defeating Joe Biden and the Democrats and reversing soaring inflation and gas prices, high crime, surging illegal immigration and global instability.
In a wide-ranging interview aired Tuesday night on the Just the News television show on Real America’s Voice, the nation's 45th president said his plan begins with recapturing GOP control of at least one chamber of Congress in November and creating a bulwark to stop the Biden agenda.
Trump threw cold water on one idea being floated by conservatives like Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., who wants to nominate the former president to be House speaker if the GOP wins.
"It's not something I want," he said. "A lot of people bring it up. It's brought up all the time."
He added a second time for emphasis: "It's not something I would be interested in."
Trump said he believes runaway inflation, which some fear could reach 10% annualized in March, could be alleviated by quickly ramping up oil and gas production and lowering energy costs that affect everything from transportation to food production.
"We have to straighten out inflation, which we can do much easier than people know," he said, noting he had gas prices down to $1.87 a gallon at one point in his presidency.
"If energy comes down, it's so important," he said. "Other parts of inflation are coming down too. I was saying today, 'I read where food is going to make energy look like it's a good deal, that the food prices are going to go up much more very soon, much more than the energy prices.' "

There is much more in the interview. Well worth the short amount of time it takes to read it.

So his master plan is to get more oil and gas production? It’s my understanding that we are already operating at near full capacity, how is opening up more drilling going to help the (global) problem?? Methinks it’s just a nice little slogan to throw to easily fooled rubes who think the US president controls the price of gas. And yes, fuel costs are a huge driver of inflation, but opening the tap a little bit more isn’t going to magically solve the problem

How does he propose "ramping up oil and gas production"?

You can be a billionaire and still not understand inflation.

That's the prospective-leader of the free worlds platform?
To claim he can do one, rather insignificant thing (Increase gas/oil production), that he can't really even do?

Wow, can you post a more absurd and underwhelming platform? I doubt it.

So..what's he gonna do? Nationalize any/all US-based oil companies and force them to start developing those leases. Eh, @Mycroft? Is this going to be enough to counter-balance Russian embargoes? Is it going to magically make the inflation caused by pent-up demand meeting supply chain ****-ups go away?

lol... like you've thought about it. Just blindly spamming pro-Trump swill, on command.

First responder as OP?

I guess Trump is going to deviate from his prior plan.

"But so I think, I think it would be, I think it would be very, very, I think we'd have a very, very solid, we would continue what we're doing, we'd solidify what we've done, and we have other things on our plate that we want to get done," - Trump in AUG2020

Not knowing this website, I expected one-sided partisanship, but was surprised to find the comment's section running about 50-50 pro-con Trump.

Can't speak otherwise to the rest of the site though, as I haven't looked.

But thanks for covering this.

The site is irrelevant except that they conducted the interview.

Not irrelevant if they can't be trusted for accuracy!
Accuracy? The site includes the video of the interview...the entire interview. Can't get any more accurate than that.

I wasn't speaking specifically to this instance.

I was rebutting in general, that sources & sites matter.

Regardless, I do appreciate your posting this. I read it, and may try to get around to the video later.

Read the OP linked article.
SOSDD (Same Old Sxxx, Different Day).

Interesting idea of withholding foreign aid unless the country takes backs its illegal citizen in the US.

The rest. It is easy to say Putin would not go after Ukraine if I was in office. Or inflation would not be as high if I was in office. There is no way to prove that is a correct statement because DJT is not the President.

Of course he will wait till 2024 to announce. Got to keep the money coming in.

Okay.

Sure. I agree about sites and accuracy. I'm especially wary of articles that selectively quote someone, especially out of context, and especially without providing the entire statements. They are usually spinning things the way THEY want you to believe they are.

Agreed.

Oh great, round 2 for Trump where he can spend the entire time punishing anyone who said anything even slightly negative about him and people like Mycroft will back him all the way.

Don't worry about Trump not doing the actual job of being President or that he's going to completely destroy all relations with allies for the crime of not helping him to rig the election he lost as all that matters is petty revenge.

Yey, best President ever!!!!!!!!!!

I'm willing to guess that his only policy decision in his next term in office will be another vast tax cut for the ultra-rich as those guys only got the vast, vast majority of all the wealth during the pandemic and not all of it.

Won't that be great when they have even more money they can't possibly ever spend in 50 lifetimes?

How does he propose "ramping up oil and gas production"?
That is very simple. All he has to do is undo everything Biden illegally did on his first day in office. Start up the Keystone XL pipeline again, and open up all the other pipelines Biden illegally shut down. Then end the illegal moratorium on drilling oil in Alaska. Allow the leaseholders to bring the oil to production, which leftist filth refuse to do.

That will not only ramp "up oil and gas production" it will also significantly lower prices for everything, and once again make the US oil independent.

It is no magic trick to increase oil and gas production. Just do everything the leftist filth want to stop and the US will be flowing in oil. It is the leftist pieces of shit, like those controlling Biden, and their war against fossil fuels, who are attacking the prosperity of Americans.

Well said, Donald....well said.....I think.
And just think, Trump fans accuse Biden of being an incoherent babbler. LOL

Trump is out of his mind. Walk away!

US Is Not “Energy Independent,” Despite Trump's Claims

https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org › 2020/01/13 › u-...

Jan 13, 2020 — "A lot of the oil that we produce in Texas is mismatched with the refining capacity that we have here," said Jim Krane, the Wallace

If you wanted to have stable prices as post pandemic domestic activity returned, domestic refining capacity and petroleum exploration
and extraction needed to be preserved via an emergency storage expansion by invoking the War Powers Act in March or April, 2020
and by exporting as much crude oil as possible as Saudi Arabia and Russia were attempting to, to preserve output levels at any cost.

The U.S. government has guaranteed a floor price on milk and cheese for many years because no other practical choice to insure supply
was ever arrived at. Trump and advisors devoted no attention to avoiding what would happen when the largest consumer of refined petroleum,
the airlines, recovered to normal activity.

Instead, just after demand cratered resulting from pandemic shutdown, the U.S. under Trump shut in production and shut down.

Trump worked to increase domestic petroleum demand with no policies to preserve supply.

The oil industry actually hasn’t done that well under Trump

"The oil industry’s fortunes have been withering on President Donald Trump’s watch, ...
Though some of those industry woes were emerging last year as companies grappled with a glut of oil, people in the business say they were made worse by the president’s trade wars and mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic. So far least 40 U.S. oil companies have sought bankruptcy protection in 2020 while dozens of others have slashed spending and cut tens of thousands of jobs. ..."

Let's start with the "no free press...no free speech" comment: Trump tried to go after those who didn't agree with him, shut down press conferences, had reporters under watch and outright threatened to control the internet to prevent bad things to be said about him.

He wanted to get us out of NATO and the UN. Now he wants a NATO for China...after bashing our relationships with South Korea and Japan and insisting they "pay more"? Threatening to drop down troop strength in that part of the world...NOW he wants to do more!?!?

Putin would have invaded Ukraine with Trump in office...because that's what Putin wanted. Putin was counting on Trump to politically divide the UN and NATO so that they wouldn't act in concert against Russia when they made their move. Putin was counting on Trump to get us out of the UN and/or NATO so that there would be no US threat against Russia when he made his move. Remember, Trump said over and over and over that we needed to get our of NATO and the UN. So, Putin naturally assumed that Trump would simply let it all happen and keep the US out of it. He had to move quickly once Biden started making repairs to the UN and NATO but was too late.

The election wasn't stolen. Nobody has been able to prove that it was. Trump and the GOP are doing what they always do concerning elections: move the goalposts or cheat to win.

Not giving foreign aid if illegals aren't taken back? BWAAA-HAAAA-HAAA!!!!!!!! We don't spend that much on foreign aid to begin with...who the hell does he think he's kidding? Hell, even Obama didn't spend that much!!! Besides, if that tactic actually worked like Trump claims....THEN WHY THE EVER-LIVING F$%K DID HE NEED THAT STUPID WALL THAT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!?!?!?!?

Increase in energy production won't help with inflation because we are fixated on oil. Sure, you can make temporary relief like tax holidays or release some from the strategic supply...but even with oil drilling and increased production...the oil companies aren't going to lower prices that quickly...nor is the drilling ultimately sustainable. We are consuming more than we can produce...not just now, but in the past as well, and oil is a finite product. Imagine if we create new sources of energy production that will create industry, jobs and income...while making us less reliant on the global oil market.

In addition to that...Trump can't just make it happen because he says so; that would be illegal. And if you insist that he can...might I remind you of a former leader of another nation who did just that: Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. So, if you think that should happen just know you are supporting a proven method of destorying one's own oil production industry as well as be a true socialist.

Sorry, if this is Trump's plan...then the answer is no.
