Not a penny for war

What's the alternative? Allowing Russia and China gobble up Europe and Asia respectively? You don't think that could happen?
Civilizations in the 1930s didn't think Germany, Japan, and Italy were planning to take over the world. You remember World War II, don't you? They must have taught you something about it in high school.
You don't think Russia and China remember WWI and WWII? Here's something you won't hear from your MSM government approved propaganda: Maybe Russia and China don't want to take over the world, they want to prevent the US from doing it. You do realize that everything the US accuses Russia and China of doing, we are doing ourselves? Russia invaded Ukraine to protect itself from NATO parking nuclear missiles on its border. Face it. But how many countries has the US invaded and occupied? Tell me, did Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria provide a dire threat to the American homeland? Who do you really think the global aggressor is? And before you start with the "better us than them" BS, do you really think the rest of the world is going to put up with all the social BS currently overwhelming the American culture? Maybe large parts of the world really don't want the American way of life and are willing to resist American hegemony. If you are capable of critical thinking, you may want to consider all these conflicts from the point of view of the other side for once.

His hypothetical is IF the US wasn't patrolling Earth. The US is patrolling Earth. The US tied its own militaristic hands because it propagated the Cold War.

I'm not pro-Russian at all. That's your flawed binary logic and strawman nonsense.
Appeasement is so 1938

And we know the history

Any politician that votes for more military spending is a spineless stooge of the neoconservatives in my book.
Then we better get assassinating. Because without arms, the US will just be Russia, but with better neighbors.

And yes, defense spending is obscene. If you are serious about that, you'll also need to tackle the milicing of domestic law enforcement, the carceral state, and boondoggles like the F-35, because they're all parts of the same problem.

Perhaps a real way to address Defense spending is to audit the DoD and its contracts, find some way to overturn or undo the effects of Citizens United, and just generally get corporate money out of elections, so that there's a chance new legislators don't arrive to Congress beholden to BoeingLockheedMartinNorthropRaytheon or whatever zaibatsu it will be next week.

It is our problem, just as I have said, freedom and Democracy must be defended.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. 😂

Good lord. The REALLY sad part: I dont think you were being facetious.

Hmmmm.
SIGN ME UP!!!

Any politician who does not vote for more military spending is a short-sighted,myopic fool who does not see how China in increasing its military spending.
Do you want China to be stronger than us militarily?

China is not remotely as strong as US military.

More military spending is truly an insane proposition for the US. imo

Let's not forget the Germans grabbed Poland with the USSR getting a slice under a protocol of the Ribbentrop Molotov pact.

Again: inaccurate comparison to WWII, Hitler and Nazis duly noted. And dismissed.

You're boring the tits right on off me with that tripe friend.

Russia has a long history of expanding at there neighbors expense.

Hang on to your tits

What is insane about being strong militarily and being the leader of the Western world? Nations work at using its strengths to show other countries how to interact with other countries.
You have a problem with that philosophy?

You would never say that those hundreds of billions spent on Stealth Fighters and Infra Red cameras and all that could be better spent on education, the homeless, creating more jobs, children sports, for domestic abuse or rape victims, rebuilding our war torn destitute inner cities... etc etc etc?

Because that would be crazy...
He would say it's socialism.

So tired of this crap.
You lambast President Biden for "sending billions" in military aid to Ukraine when we have unmet needs here at home.
Stop right there.
Yes it's true, we're giving huge amounts of American made ammunition, vehicles, guns, helmets, etc. to Ukraine.
But the billions of dollars spent to produce this stuff isn't going overseas. It has gone and is still going directly into the pockets of literally millions of Americans involved in the production of raw materials and actual manufacture of these items.
The reality is, the biggest monetary benefactor from our Ukrainian support is American industry and the American worker.
You sure you want to die on your straw man hill?

Only silly people (and countries) would believe the U.S. is trying to take over the world. What does that even mean?
The U.S. works at being a model for other countries to emulate.
Countries work to satisfy their own interests - without having to invade other countries to show how powerful they are.

You actually believe this:
"But how many countries has the US invaded and occupied? Tell me, did Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria provide a dire threat to the American homeland"
Where are you getting your news from? Pravda? Russia Today?
Are we occupying those countries you mentioned?

I am sorry you don't like our country. I presume you are fortunate enough to be an American. And I also assume you are misguided and going through life wearing blinkers and not using common sense. But given that you come to this site to foist your incorrect opinions on anyone who will agree with you, you no doubt feel comfortable about being wrong about our great company.

You should wake up every day and be thankful you live in the greatest country in the world. But you're probably not old enough to understand that.

There's enough in our economy for both guns and butter.
We just have to be smart enough to divide it up properly.

Jay, I don't think you are up to speed with US Foreign Relations and American Hegemony. There is only 1 country on the planet that has military bases all over the world, and that is the US. You do know we are occupying Syrian oil fields to keep Syria from benefiting from their natural resources, right? You do know we fought a 20 year war in Afghanistan because it was deemed strategic for US economic interests (remember Bush didn't even want to go into Afghanistan and wanted to jump straight to Iraq), then soon after we invaded Iraq to keep oil trading in US dollars and not Euros. We want Russia to open its vast resources for American corporations and it still refuses, so we circle it with NATO/US military bases and force them. The US uses its military to force countries to bend to American economic needs, and is certainly not a role model that you would want China to become. You really need to consider US Foreign Relations from the rest of the world's perspective. Today there is just American hegemony and those that resist it will be punished. Yet a large part of the world is tired of American hegemony and prefers a new multipolar international order. The US does not, for obvious economic reasons. Don't kid yourself that the US is the good guy here. It's not.

At least somebody has a commons sense and nerve to admit the truth! As we remember all the transient past empires (like a mighty ancient Rome) we all know that the end is inevitable.
