North Korea is without question a totalitarian state and there is not one educated person that would argue otherwise.
Apparently you need a dictionary - because I don't even believe North Korean supporters would deny the state is totalitarian - as a matter of fact I think it's one of the reasons they adore the state.
Bug your rooms? you do realized you're watched and chaperoned 24-7, and only shown what the North Koreans want you to see??
In what country in the world do you have a "tour guide" at your side 24-7 and are restricted from traveling freely???
The funniest part is that these "tour guides" spend 90% of their time degrading the US and capitalism in general, and another 5% pointing out the dear leaders and how they come from rainbows and are Gods or the children of God.
You still could not be missing the point harder. Not going to waste my time attempting to explain it again.
Why would you man..... Did you study communism or totalitarian regimes such as Mao, Pol Pot, Kim Jong-il, Kim Il-sung etc?
Why would you want to argue with me when your idea socialist utopia is a commune cult? instead of a nation or state that has been enslaved for the elite?
I understand your fascination and desire for socialism - but I don't believe you can see beyond that and how it can murder hundreds of millions and destroy countries, beyond just wanted to be free and feed themselves.
That is the fundamental problem with socialism on a national scale.
To you it's free sex and free food - to others its murder, totalitarianism and lack of food.

I realize all of this. Lets just say I have a fetish for DPRK documentaries.
Nobody said it wasn't a totalitarian state.
Apparently you don't, since I'm no socialist. But by all means, please continue building your strawmen to attack.
Um yeah, someone/poster actually claimed it wasn't a totalitarian state - then went further on and insisted I had no idea what a totalitarian state was.

Another American detained in DPRK for very weird reasons. This time we are not even being told the exact reason. I expect this just to be more attention seeking from the DPRK government. Hopefully this US citizen can be undetained and returned home ASAP.
Yeah that's what most socialists claim..
What economic model do you adhere to then?
Generally speaking, Keynesian, although I'm the first to admit it's not perfect.
Did you know in one of Keynes most popular books he made many errors on the history of economics? I never much enjoyed the book, but I always got a laugh out of his several historical errors.
That's nice. I'm sure Milton Friedman once farted too loud in church.
The theory is the most important thing, not the fact that Keynes wasn't a great researcher.
He was setting out in part to correct errors from past thinkers, but his research was so poor he got the history wrong. :lamo
"Ah, he says he's not a socialist. SOUNDS JUST LIKE SOMETHING A SOCIALIST WOULD SAY."
Generally speaking, Keynesian, although I'm the first to admit it's not perfect.
Which clearly invalidates all of his theories and concepts.
No, but it is funny.
The book The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money is a good example of his stupidity. It is a book filled with fallacies, inconsistencies, vaguenesses and plain errors of fact. I'm sorry, but Keynes was an idiot.
Are you kidding me?So how the hell can you be a "liberal" considering this is what "liberals" want.
Again. Are you kidding me?It's one thing to be a concerned citizen, but it's another to support a political party that wants to control every aspect of the United States.
why do you crave for being there?NK is Kim's barracks ,wherein people are all soldiers preparing to fight against any foreigners. Its not a ban but a warning. So yes, I will still go. I have a buddy working in Kenya, since he works in Kenya should the US not help him if something bad happens to him? Hell there is a warning in Mexico as well...
