Read the book The Cleanest Race by Brian Meyers. i/t is a groundbreaking explanation about how the backwards police state of North Korea is not socialist at all, but rather the result of right wing ideology.

North Korea has much in common with conservative ideology all around the globe, including the republican party in the USA. There is a heavy focus on a "traditional family" structure, with a mother, father, and children. There is extreme xenophobia, fear of immigration, and a belief that their race is the purest (much like the white racism so prevalent in the South.) There is a heavy focus on the military, much like the military worship in the U.S.A. In fact, in North Korea, just like the the red states of the U.S.A, black citizens (or in the case of North Korea, a black Cuban diplomat) live in constant fear of lynching.

This is in direct contrast to true socialism, which treats all human beings as equal, regardless of race, gender, or nationality. True socialism has lead to the development of China from a medieval state to one of the most developed countries of the world, and has led to the creation of the world's greatest healthcare system in Cuba. Cuba's Health Care System: a Model for the World

In fact, North Korea has OPENLY REJECTED socialism. There are no pictures of Marx, or Mao, or Lenin on classrooms or in public. There is ZERO mention of communism in the constitution. The focus is on "Juche" an avowedly far right, militaristic, xenophobic ideal that doesn't sound so different than what Donald Trump preaches.

The next time some idiot mentions North Korea as "communist," tell them that North Korea is actually very reminiscent of the American right wing, and that the party line of the Korean Workers Party and the party line of the GOP are frighteningly similar.

That's one hell of a twisted path to try to follow just to defend socialism and communism. Good luck with that.

What universe do you live in? Seriously.

There is so many things wrong with this thread I don't even know where to start.

North Korea's closest ally is the communist government of China. Without China, the fat little dumpling dictator of North Korea would probably be where Saddam Hussein is now.

North Korea doesnt have much of an official ideology.. Juche is pretty broad and useless, essentially Juche is self reliance with a dependence on a strong centralized state. Songun is essentially just beefing up your military and putting the military first. They simply lack a basic ideology. The whole system if based around a strong centralized state with the Kim dynasty at the top and a strong centrally controlled military. Its simply a dynasty based in totalitarianism.

Their ideology is based in the far-right ideology of Japanese religious militarists who occupied Korea for 50 years.

this whole diatribe is frightening, honestly.

this whole diatribe is frightening, honestly.

Yes, it is frightening how similar the GOP is to the rulers of North Korea. Fortunately, old white men are dying out, so we don't need to worry about the republican party for much longer.

no, frightening in the fact that someone might actually believe all of that nonsense.

thus the power of propaganda, I guess.

Oh, that's the universe where where I own a hundred room mansion, right?

Oh you're the guy who didn't tip me when I delivered your pizza!

No, it's not. It's simple police state totalitarianism, propped up by the world's biggest cult of personality, to the highest possible degree.

Smart money bets on knowing what on is talking about before one actually talks.

Considering some of the core principles of conservatism is are things like individuality, liberty, capitalism, free markets, freedom of association, freedom of speech, personal responsibility, strong private property rights, ect, ect, ect. I find the correlation between the few things it chose to be lacking.

It is the liberal ideology that falls more in line here. All powerful federal, anti-capitalism, removing freedom of association and choice, government safety nets, weak private property rights, ect, ect, ect,....

Traditional family values = North Korea? Really?

As far as immigration, xenophobia, racism...that doesn't pan out. Immigration is mostly an economic and security issue. A lot of what's called xenophobic or racist is actually just a matter of incompatible cultures. There are plenty of examples of conservative minorities that have done very well among conservatives because they have divorced themselves from certain aspects of the culture they left behind.

It's easy to observe the differences in culture in things like entertainment. I'll choose the music industry.

Country Music: Family focused, hard work, love of country, love of community, faith, ect are common themes.

Rap Music: Get money, fight/kill anyone who disrespects you (being a gangster helps with your "street cred"), women are bitches, drugs, hate this group or another, ect, ect, ect

Sorry, but certain things don't mix, and it's not based on race.

Sure it shares aspects of racism. But that is just one aspect of the state.

It's a dictatorship. Fascism is the result of a leftist state. Nazi Germany was National Socialist.

Nope. Fascism isn't "leftist".

Nazi Germany was National Socialist.

Note where the emphasis is placed.
