I continue to trust the American voters. It is clear how much the franchise means to these citizens. In the midst of hurricane recovery, they vote. I admire their tenacity.
North Carolina Sets New Record For Early Voter Turnout
Even as the state recovers from a devastating hurricane, more than 350,000 North Carolinians cast ballots on Thursday.www.huffpost.com
Turnout is what I’m looking at.Look guys, nothing would make me happier than to be wrong about this, but early voting is not a good metric for determining which party is likely to win.
Yes, for the purpose of this topic, "early voting" = "high turnout." That's what I'm referring to.Turnout is what I’m looking at.
The larger the turnout the better the odds for Harris.
You’re looking at it the wrong way.Yes, for the purpose of this topic, "early voting" = "high turnout." That's what I'm referring to.
And typically speaking the common wisdom that high turnout favors Democrats is true, but what I'm seeing is equally high energy from Republicans as from Democrats. And this isn't a normal election, and these aren't normal times.
Again, nothing would make me happier than to be wrong.
Hope you're right! You’re looking at it the wrong way.
The advantage to high turnout for democrats is that it is that many fewer voters the ground game is chasing.
THIS - right now - is where ground game matters.
Harris ground teams are getting daily updates of who has voted. (Obviously you don’t know how they voted, just THAT they’ve voted).
So, they can cross them off their lists. Now they know who they still need to call. Who they still need to get out to vote. Who they can still have conversations with. Who might need a ride. Or help remembering that oh shit, that ballot that’s on their kitchen table under all the mail, I forgot to mail that!
Trump doesn’t have NEARLY the ground game Harris does.
Elections aren’t simply won by who has the most enthusiastic voters…elections are won when you turn out more of your people than your opponent. And ground game matters, especially with voters who are not as enthusiastic. It’s amazing how much more likely a low propensity voter is TO vote if someone knocks on their door and is pleasant to them.

NO !!!!!!!!!Elections are won by knowing how many fake ballots you have to "find" after the voting stops. OMG, how did we miss these?
What's going to be your reaction when Trump wins?
