What do you expect from someone who lived with his parents until he got his first job, at 40 years old?

CLOVEDALE (CBS SF) — The Mayor of Cloverdale hopes it’s just a misunderstanding, but the Bernie Sanders campaign appears to have left her small town with $23,000 in unpaid bills after it hosted their ‘A Future To Believe In’ rally last June.

According to The Press Democrat, the Sanders campaign paid Cloverdale a $2500 deposit toward expenses. Despite assurances they’d pay the balance, their response to the city’s attempts to collect on an invoice is starting to sound like ‘the runaround.’

Why were four different police and fire departments required to use overtime to handle a brief "campaign rally" event for 6K people? If one knew that $2.5K was not nearly enough of a "security deposit" to cover the expected expenses then why accept it with no other (non-verbal) contract?

There are certain things required by the SS for a candidate to show up. Was all that needed? probably not, but it was probably part of the request by the SS for security reasons.
that is before he even shows up. The SS are pretty strict on security requirements for candidates.

as for the down payment yeah I wouldn't ask for 2,500 I would have at least 50%.

Is Trump in the red or in the black?

Bankruptcy is legal. Ditching a debt isn't. See the difference?

Re: North Bay Town Feeling ‘Berned’ After Sanders Rally Leaves $23,000 In Unpaid Bill

It seems a lot of Sanders supporters have been feeling the "burn" lately.

Show of hands for how many think Hillary will be the magnanimous winner and help Bernie get people paid:

Anyone?

I watched video of many of them and honestly...they look shell shocked. I mean dazed. Susan Sarandon is one of them. They actually bought into his schtick...then when it was exposed the whole process was a joke and rigged, rather than fight, which they were geared to do, Bernie actually endorsed the system that had spent 18 months butt****ing him.

What a mess.

Hundreds of contractors have claimed Trump stiffed them. Recently.

That makes it ok for Sanders to do it?

There was no contract and it sounds to me like the town made some assumptions about reimbursement that turned out to be wrong.

Sounds like a socialist's MO to me - incur the expense and benefit and let the bill be handled by someone else.

As our current lefty Prime Minister likes to say - budgets take care of themselves.

Plausible deniability for Sanders, eh?

It isn't even deniability. The Secret Service pointed out that the locality is responsible for costs incurred by law enforcement. There isn't evidence of any agreement to the contrary except the claim of a town council that seems to be suffering from buyer's remorse since they got the bill.

He doesn't care. It was a deflection.

The Secret Service said that Secret Service isn't responsible to pay local law enforcement.

Wow, that's incredible.

The Secret Service said that Secret Service isn't responsible to pay local law enforcement.

It also said that the locality is typically responsible for picking up the tab.

Re: North Bay Town Feeling ‘Berned’ After Sanders Rally Leaves $23,000 In Unpaid Bill

Why don't you care about this instance?

Because it appears to be an isolated incident and therefore is more likely to be an oversight or misunderstanding.

How is he feeling today?

His feelings aside, Fortune magazine has him in the black at 4.5 billion
