While surfing Google News a few minutes ago, I chanced upon an article in The Hill.

Anyone who is seriously interested in this topic might want to check it out. (This computer illiterate senior citizen -- 84 years old -- cannot link.)

I had always known that President Wilson was physically and mentally exhausted during his last days in the White House (that's why some people think that Mrs. Wilson was our first de facto female President, since officials who came to his sick room had to negotiate only through her).

I learned that his illness was due to that era's COVID: the Spanish flu.

I believe that the article was written by a regular guest on FOX, so some members (and guests) may dismiss it out of hand.

Other members & guests, however, may find it enlightening and thought-provoking.

Interesting. Are you positing that Trump's COVID infection might have triggered the incredible decline in his on-the-job performance after November 3, 2020? If so, that is a very fascinating theory and I'd be interested to hear more about it. I thought he was just being a sore loser but perhaps there's more to the story.

From what I have read, Wilson did have the Spanish Flu, and it took a great toll. However, it was a year or so later that he had a stroke, and that is when Mrs. Wilson became the acting president, which led to the 25th amendment.

A book I read, The Great Influenza by John Barry took a like view. And here is the article link, Should the nation be concerned about Biden's cognitive abilities?
