Seems there is a disconnect on the various DHS sites regarding age.

“We are ENDING the age cap for ICE law enforcement,” said Secretary Noem. “Qualified candidates can now apply with no age limit. JOIN.ICE.GOV.”

Is there an age limit or maximum?​

Yes. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. The day immediately preceding an individual's 37th birthday will be the last day to be referred for selection consideration for criminal investigators. The day immediately preceding an individual's 40th birthday will be last day to be referred for selection consideration as a deportation officer. The age restriction may not apply if you are a preference-eligible veteran, currently serving or have previously served in a federal civilian law enforcement position covered by 5 U.S.C. & 8336(c) or 5 U.S.C. & 8412(d).

Wonder if they will also eliminate the mandatory retirement age of 57 for law enforcement ICE employees?
The reason for the age 37 in the past was so someone could work 20 years for retirement at the mandatory retirement age.

imo, the Trump administration at times do not know what they are doing.

The Trump administration is taking credit for a student loan program that has been in effect since 2021. And a bonus program that has been effect since 2007. Gee, what a surprise.

ICE Barbie already tried to recruit from the ranks of local law enforcement. Guess how well that went over?

They also posted something on X about paying bounties for successful deportations. That failed so badly that they rescinded the offer and tried to pretend it was fake within an hour.
 
Smart move though, the younger the more malleable. But I pity the poor bastard who joins.
