Seems while Donald Trump demands loyalty from Republicans to back him, he's unwilling to commit not to attack any Republicans or support a primary challenger to a Republican incumbent for the 2022 midterms or in 2024.

Rep McCarthy had this to say about it:

I don't have a commitment on that. I work closely with the president on working on endorsements to win seats in the House."

In short, he punked out. (And that's putting it mildly!)

As McCarthy said...it's too far out. Trump is smart not to make any commitments right now.

If you heard Trump's speech at CPAC, you know Rep. McCarthy was just suckered. Of course, the defense will be "Trump will endorse strong candidates who can win election in 2022", but what McCarthy and others will leave out is that all 17 legislatures Donald Trump mentioned at CPAC will be primaried if they don't reverse course and tow the Trumpian party line. So, you may as well claim it. The Republican Party has been cooped by Donald J. Trump.

And this is surprising to who?

If it isn't obvious to you by now that Trump only cares about himself it never will be.
Trump has no loyalty to anyone which is why we watched record numbers of people come and go from the White House while he was in power. He happily chucked loyalists under the bus the second they did or said anything even slightly critical of Trump because he can't stand any criticism however small.

Considering how conservatives love to call people snowflakes it's amazing to watch them defend Trump when he claims to be the most persecuted man in history despite his entire life being a story of being given things on a silver platter and walking away from epic losses and screwing everyone around him while he flies off in his private jet.

He bankrupted a casino. That's not the sign of a stable genius businessman.

The Republican primaries are going to be interesting in 2022. We'll see how influential Trump still is in the party. Considering what happened in the Georgia senate runoffs, I have my doubts about Trump's ability to campaign effectively for someone else.

We'll have a full display of Trumps thin skin at any primaries.
If I was going to try to go against Trump I'd see that as a giant weakness and I don't think it's going to help him with moderates and undecided voters who the Repulicans need to win.

Are you then asserting that every candidate who runs for any nomination from either party are or should be perfectly in agreement?

Why would it be unusual for any person to question the motivations or conclusions of any other?

The only person Trump has ever shown any loyalty to is the autocratic ruler of a hostile foreign government, and over four years later we still have no idea why. The idea that it all comes down to a "Trump Tower Moscow" business deal feels deeply implausible to me, and it can't just be a garden variety love of dictators because he's had no problem insulting many other autocratic rulers.

you'd have to be a total dumb ass to not know that Donald Trump is all about Donald Trump. he cares not about the Republican Party. it's just a vehicle for Donald Trump to promote Donald Trump.
