Wrong...it is not the unity we reject, it's the false belief that all 3 are equal...This is very hard for many ‘Christian’s’ who reject the idea of unity as in the idea of the Trinity.
Wrong again...we can gain unity with Jehovah God and Jesus Christ, just as Jesus himself prayed for, yet we are no more equal to God than Jesus is...By insisting on the separation of the Godhead they necessarily reject any idea of unity with the divine and thus being able to speak of the God within.
What Jesus taught is far more superior than an ethic or philosophy...for example such as what was taught by Confucius and Lao-tzu or even Buddha....Jesus did not teach that we can work out our own salvation by the pathway of knowledge and enlightenment...Jesus pointed to God alone as the source of salvation...I have long been attracted to the namaste of Eastern religions
It's for some to see the God within, the "I" seems to always get in the way. When ones only view is that of duality then they only see a seperate God, remove the "I" and a whole new landscape is presented. It is an awkward position to deny the unity of the godhead and particularly the superiority of God who by the word of the scriptures a genocidal God and a very limited one at that…..the chosen people only. It was only with the coming of Jesus that love rather than wrath became prominent and that eternal life became a possibility…..basically never mentioned in the OT.
These however seem secondary to denying the God within…..

Romans 7:17…..”As it is, it is NO LONGER I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.”
Galatians 2:20….”…….and I NO LONGER live, but Christ lives in me.”
What is the lesson ? In Romans the ‘I’ is the ego….which we all have and essentially identifies self. Forget about making Satan the villain….your own worst enemy is your self/ego. Galatians tells us that when we overcome the ego we can become one in Christ. Mystic Christians understand that the unitive state is the ultimate goal. This is very hard for many ‘Christian’s’ who reject the idea of unity as in the idea of the Trinity. I have long been attracted to the namaste of Eastern religions…..the greeting that is essentially saying “the divine in me recognizes the divine in you”……Christians are more likely to rush to the judgment…..assuming no divinity in others unless the satisfactorily prove themselves. Jesus and the Samaritan…do I need to remind anyone ? And, by the way, being born again is the surrender of the ego….it is not memorization of the Scriptures…..
Every Christian will agree that we are saved by the grace of God. We are told that “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble”……who is more proud than the one with a big ego ? Oddly enough many people are drawn to those with big egos…..even confessing Christians…..
But not every Christian believes we are saved by grace alone.Every Christian will agree that we are saved by the grace of God
