NHL 2021-22

Mike Grier hired by the San Jose Sharks as new GM, becoming the first ever black NHL GM. As a fan of Grier when he played(he was one of those players who left everything on the ice every single night...he played hard, he played smart, he played well), I find this really cool.

Prospect tournament starts in 2 days. Hopefully those games get streamed since seeing the young kids is pretty exciting. Also, probably time for a new thread.

All the sports have challenges with scheduling.
Then there’s the injuries in every sport.
And the special book on each sport’s refs.

I like it when staff does a sports thread for a new year.

For me, the sports wagering apps have given me the unintended consequence of getting to know these players, coaches, etc as people with families, etc.

My Dad was from Maine so he liked the Bruins of course.
He/we came to the Joliet Arsenal in 1966.
The Blackhawks had some special players back then.
