They tell themselves their enemies are so uniquely evil and dangerous - terrorists - that anything done in the name of fighting them is noble.
Do you know how many of the people arrested in connection with the Capitol invasion were active users of Parler?

Zero.

The planning was largely done on Facebook. This is all a bullshit pretext for silencing competitors on ideological grounds: just the start.

The Antifa/BLM riots were also planned on Facebook.
It seems that Parler was taken down because they might grow to challenge them.

That's it! Parler was getting too big too fast and stealing Twitter users who left enmass to protest the perma-ban of the POTUS.

I don't like social media in general. We're no more mature enough to handle it than we are to acheive anarchy.

If it all dies I'm good with that.

Here's how one ISP is handling things.

"It has come to our attention that Twitter and Facebook are engaged in censorship of our customers and information," an email to customers reads.

The service provider said the change would go into effect on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

In an email posted to Twitter by a customer, Krista Yep, the company says it was fielding calls from customers asking that the service not display the sites on the internet, and that they didn't want their children to be able to access them.

"Our company does not believe a website or social networking site has the authority to censor what you see and post and hide information from you, stop you from seeing what your friends and family are posting," the email reads. "This is why with the amount of concerns, we have made this decision to block these two websites from being accessed from our network."

Broadband suppliers need to start banning Facebook and Twitter on their networks as being discriminatory organizations. When they can ban anyone they want why can't they be banned?

From the article(?):
Amazon -- which already has a $600 million contract to provide services to the CIA, and is desperately bidding to make that far more -- is deeply opposed to violence and fascism.

Notice the irony here...Our company does not believe in censoring or blocking, therefore we are selectively censoring those who do not agree with us. Comedy Gold.

those who support insurrectionists should boycott FB. see ya.

Facebook and Twitter both should be banned by their internet providers as discriminatory orgs. I mean who is it that bans people they don't like? It's your damn Facebook and your damn Twitter.

Love the twist there...

First the plotters were kicked off Twitter/Facebook and then joined Parler. The Anti/BLM PROTESTS had a few rioters, the tRumpers staged a COUP violating a symbol of our democracy which these rancid 'patriots' claim is sacred to them when it suits. Those banished from Facebook weren't banished words but rather actions from those words. Think it's unfair???? Sue 'em that's what their idol does. (thinking they will have as much luck)

Parler's ToS didn't fit the carrier company's ToS. One thing to be a haven for Conservatives, another to allow ToS violations. Quick question for the ranters- if a renter stinks up the apartment you own- don't you kick them out???

Now it surprises me those who claim to worship at the alter of bootstrapping, capitalism, find a need and fill it... Instead of sitting on their brains, perhaps they could stop sending tRump millions and start their own social media stand alone platform....

Seems awfully submissive/craven/lazy (pick the one that fits) to sit and whine and not create a conservative, from the ground up, media platform for the rabid right ranters, free of any rules or accountability... ✌

Amazon and Twitter are business partners including by Bezos stock in both. It was clearly an illegal monopolistic act.

Parler claims that it is being discriminated against because it is in direct competition with social media giant Twitter.

"Last month, Defendant Amazon Web Services, Inc. (“AWS”) and the popular social media platform Twitter signed a multi-year deal so that AWS could support the daily delivery of millions of tweets. AWS currently provides that same service to Parler, a conservative microblogging alternative and competitor to Twitter," the filing reads.

"When Twitter announced two evenings ago that it was permanently banning President Trump from its platform, conservative users began to flee Twitter en masse for Parler. The exodus was so large that the next day, yesterday, Parler became the number one free app downloaded from Apple’s App Store."

I noticed they went all ACAB after they got a taste of riot police brutality and lost their white privilege. Was hilarious.

Glenn Greenwald should be overjoyed. He dreams of collapse. He writes collapse porn.

Yeah the rebels were beating cops with pipes, throwing extinguishers, pepper spraying Covid Masked cops- but but but THEY didn't let us capture the politicians we hate!!!!

Can't imagine if the BLM folks stormed the Capital they would be allowed to walk out not in cuffs....

But many cowards are trying to lie their way out of anything other than 'supporting their President'...'I just picked then cuffs up and tucked them in my jacket while leaving', 'I was wearing a ballistic vest and grunt brain bucket because Anti's and BLM might attack me', 'I never went inside- ignore the video tape showing me pooping in the hall'....

Yeah the deplorables are tough as a mob outnumbering law enforcement, but craven when the knock comes on their front door... ✌

The Capitol mob began organizing weeks ago for the violence that occurred on January 6, planning inside conspiracy theory and far-right online communities on platforms like Parler and Gab. Groups that typically live in the darker corners of the internet stepped into the spotlight when they took the Capitol and broadcast the breach around the web.
