Seems the rumor is that William Bar, who was AG under GHWB, is on tap for permanent AG under the Trump administration. People were speculating that Trump wanted him because of the way Poppy Bush was getting all of the praise the last several days, but it appears the reasoning is much more Trumpian in nature.

What William Barr has said:

1) More Clinton probes needed
2) Uranium One more worthy of investigation than collusion
3) Comey firing was AOK
4) Mueller team's donations are too left-leaning
5) It's okay for presidents to request specific investigations

Can't say any of this surprises me.

So is this guy really on the shortlist, or is this just Trump's way of getting the media to vet AG candidates for him (since he does a horrible job of vetting)?

Based on those positions attributed to Barr - he seems more like a bitter bar of Lifebouy in the mouth of America than he does anything that will wash us clean.

Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if this was Trump trolling the media and their useful idiots again.

The one about how he had no business in or with Russia. That one. Because Hillary told the public in the debate he'd be a puppet of Putin so he lied to distance himself from Russia. This put him where Russia had Kompromat on him because putin knew he was lying and had to preserve that image.

I'll tell ya, if I was working for Trump in the WH, I'd start a ridiculous new rumor or two every ****ing day. Like, "Trump is considering Roseanne Barr for AG, not William Bar. You guys got the wrong Barr." The possibilities are literally endless.

Speaking of rumors, when is a "sexual harassment/assault" accusation against this guy from some woman who after 30 years just now got around to mentioning it going to appear?

Depends. Did he sexually harass or assault anyone?

Media, start your engines!

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/william-bill-barr-attorney-general-nominee-trump-today/

Trump says he will be nominating Barr today. He needs some type of distraction. Plus, getting Barr in will finally get Rosenstein out, because Barr will need a new 2nd in command. Not bad, not bad.

Trump might finally get his Roy Cohn (or so he hopes).

I also suspect that since Barr has been in the system for a long time, he knows , well, when to back out because of results. He might have right wing political views, but there is this thing known as 'professionalism'. There is also knowing what happened to John Dean when he tried to cover for Nixon.

I actually don't have a problem with this pic yet. Unless their is evidence he let a child rapist go free.
It's one thing to say things when your on the outside it's completely different after you see the evidence.
It's a typical Republican nominee that's not so typical of this president.
