So why do MAGAs constantly try to shift blame to states and sanctuary policies when immigration enforcement has always been a federal matter?





The problem currently in CA is how the federal agents are going about enforcement. They aren’t going in dressed as and acting like normal federal agents executing arrest warrants - they are rolling in via militarized vehicles, dressed in militarized looking costumes, covering their faces and not showing warrants.

The federal administration is provoking a response - negative - with their actions and cosplay.

On purpose.

Perhaps a problem is the misperception of the realities.

First, the Marines and Guard are summoned for the limited purpose of protecting federal buildings and federal officers. Unless I’m mistaken, they have not otherwise participated in the wider efforts of crowd control, street clearance, or arrests undertaken by the local civil authorities. The Guard’s engagement with protesters has been limited to protesters appearing at federal buildings and/or intersections with federal authorities.

I’m unsure what you perceive as “normal, federal agents executing arrest warrants” is the rationale or motive for the protests. This is the conjectural reasons offered by politicians, pundits at CNN, MSNBC, but the consensus of those protesters interviewed was an objection to ICE operations in LA County regardless of whether ICE is adhering to the Marquess of Queensberry Rules.

If the consensus reporting from various news sources is accurate, ICE raids targeting laborers at businesses such as Home Depot precipitated the protests. Yet, the actions of ICE are lawful, legal, and the notion these locations are sacrosanct from federal law enforcement activities is asinine considering the long established practice of law enforcement activities transpire upon businesses and private property for the purpose of identifying violations of the law and seizing, apprehending, arresting those who have violated the law by some legal standard of reasonable suspicion or probable cause.

Neither LA county or its businesses located within nor its people are immune to enforcement of federal law by federal law enforcement entities. Protesting immigration enforcement and the arrest of illegal immigrants is difficult to rationalize considering the prudence and sagacity of immigration laws and enforcement.

I'm sorry that the parallels between Nazi germany, were people were dragged out of their homes never to be seen again, and what Trump is doing to people here without due process bothers you.
