Newsom out the gate is starting bad and ending worse. He's the type of Democrat candidate who honestly isn't qualified enough to be governor but a complicit media will ignore all problems and red flags until it's time for a national campaign.

Let's start with the obvious stuff. Every criticism the Democrats have tried to use on Trump for the last terms is actually personified in Gavin Newsom.

First Newsom is an intellectual lightweight. He has or perhaps HAD since the media might want to cover it up, an actual learning disability.

Newsom struggles with reading.

However that isn't the only thing he struggles with, he had a bunch of old money friends and manage to create a wine company that has been modestly successful. However he put his portion into a blind trust so he has no direct oversight and can't claim any real credit.

Newsom cheated on his wife with the wife of his best friend/aide. Afterwards he basically called the bad decisions the result of a drinking problem. Then he lied about going to rehab, then resumed drinking "in moderation" after enough time and media cover had passed.

Then there's the matter of his own performance of governor.

He got busted ignoring his own COVID guidelines in the French Laundry incident.
His EDD paid billions in unemployment fraud.
The High Speed Rail program under his leadership has done squat.

Newsom already had one recall effort that was rebuffed, a second is underway and his state budgets have grown massively while almost completely emptying California's budget reserves so he can just keep spending.

He is the lightest of the lightweights, the most incompetent among incompetents but he is handsome and tall. His demeanor every time he speaks is oily used car saleman.

"Yes but with two billion in fundraising, good messaging, carefully staged events and keeping everything scripted and controlled, we won't let any of these deep rooted problems, incompetence and lack of good leadership ability actually be revealed."

Aka that was the Kamala Harris playbook and you can't watch it try to play out again and watch it lose again.

I don't like Newsom. I don't think he's been a great governor, and I can't get over the fact that he chose to have a relationship with Kimberley Guillfoyle, that demonstrates atrocious judgment. He's still head and shoulders above anyone in the Trump administration.

Dyslexia doesn’t mean that someone is an “intellectual lightweight” nor does it mean they cannot read.

It is a learning disability. Lots of individuals have various learning disabilities and overcome them.

Now…as for the other flaws:

If we want to disqualify him from political office because he committed adultery, I’m all for it. Let’s just make sure we apply that standard across the board.

You won’t see me defend cheaters.

Seeing as MAGAs are fine with a known liar, a convicted felon, a sexual assault perpetrator, accused rapist, probable pedophile and known grifter…I find all the other accusations against Newsom rather hypocritical.

My dad would have called Newsom a slick tongued floor flusher. Not exactly sure what he met, but I always knew is was a bad thing.

As I stated in the OP that every criticism that Democrats have leveled against Trump, Newsom personifies.

He's a cheater. He's an intellectual lightweight who can't read and has a learning disability. He's claimed addiction but didn't go to rehab. He benefited from nepotism to get the money to create his business. He literally sounds like a con man every time he speaks.

If those are the traits we don't want in a future President, and that is what Democrats have claimed, then they shouldn't nominate Newsom.

Newsom has many faults, but experience with wildfire is not one of them. That would be Trump.

I didn't "get from" anywhere. The flow of your rant is in the OP.

My point is one of real-world consequences. A Newsom administration wouldn't be cutting FEMA. That affects me. His philandering does not.
 
California hasn't had an unemployment rate below the national average or economic growth above the national average in over a decade.
 

Nice rant. Did you happen to notice the thread topic?

California had all those things before Gavin Newsom. The question thanks to his "leadership" whether it will have some of them after.
