It is probably a privilege that I live in close proximity to a brick & mortal Micro Center (the PC Nerd's Toys R Us) so my online purchases of tech is pretty limited.
I became accustomed to the knowledge that if I spend hundreds or thousands on high tech equipment that I can drive home with it.
I only softened on that stance with Amazon for a while because their return policy was so forgiving that the money I saved was also backed by a guarantee (though that has soured a bit, but would need another thread)
ANYWAY, I've always been warry of other online outlets like Newegg and Tiger Direct because they had all the inconvenience with none of the guarantees. I've bought a few things from them over the years, but I've heard enough stories about their dishonest return policies to not spend more than $100 on anything from them because their is a small chance I'd never see the item and they'd refuse to refund me.
Now Newegg has gone and burned Steve at Gamer's Nexus, which was a mistake.
