One of the suspects in a pair of deadly New Zealand mosque shootings wrote in a manifesto that he supported President Trump "as a symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose," according to The Washington Post.

The suspected shooter reportedly wrote in a more than 70-page manifesto that he somewhat supported Trump: “As a symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose? Sure. As a policy maker and leader? Dear god no.”

Trump's message of hatred & intolerance toward 'non-whites, non-Christians' seems to have had worldwide appeal to all the wrong people.

He was influenced by his delusional interpretation of what he THINKS Trump's message is in hid addled, delusional mind. Kinda like ISIS, al Quida and Taliban are influenced Muhammad's teachings.

Not like the president just threatened all who oppose him with violence from his supporters this week or anything? Or has said anything degrading about Muslims? Or spread narratives about a slow rolling invasion into this country?

I can expect a replay of the 1968 Chicago Democrat convention in Chicago, with the Repubs busing in the tiki torch crowd to start demonstrations, trying to scare people into voting for Trump so that he could 'restore order' out of the disorder he will create for the occasion.

It should come as no surprise that a right wing killer should admire Trump. A left wing crazy might cite Che Guevara and an islamist praise bin Laden. Sadly they all have their heroes. That doesn't mean we can lay it all at Trump's feet just because some of his views and those of his followers are somewhat similar. The vast majority would never go and shoot up a Mosque.

However Trump does deserve some minor blame for emboldening a resurgent right to believe its time has come. It's impossible to say this or other racially motivated attacks both at home and abroad would not have happened were it not for the Age of Trump, but they sure have gone up in recent years.
 

In other words, the shooter is NOT a Trump supporters, but is anti-Trump, meaning by your messages you and the shooter are on the same page about President Trump.

Nothing says that they can't be both. What is the big deal with nomenclature - will the courts in New Zealand handle the accused any differently if the media in the US calls him a terrorist, gunman, or mass murderer?
 

Obama said that the Cambridge police acted stupidly, and forevermore he was blamed for every shooting of a police officer.

Trump, aided and abetted by his right hand troll Stephen Miller, has been trash talking Muslims for 2 years, including recently telling his drooling fans that Muslims were in the caravans from Honduras who were coming this way to rape our children and kill us all, and he bears no responsibility.

Yes he had a pretty broad swathe of issues, which is why I said Trump can't be blamed entirely for this guy's actions.

He called himself an eco-fascist, whatever that is, which shows that despite his hatred of brown people, he apparently cares for the environment. So what? He may also have a favorite flavor of ice cream, but that is not the side of his personality relevant to his actions as a mass shooter or his choice of targets.

His environmentalism, economic concerns and preferred ice cream didn't drive him to kill Muslims: hatred of brown people did. And that's the part he shares with Trump. He claims to have been inspired by Trump. Trump inspires other ethno-nationalists. On that count at least they're kindred spirits.

You he suggested that the violence and anarchy favored by the left may actually come back on them? Or that, horrors, SOME Muslims are terrorists? Seems like entering another country illegally in record numbers just might be a "slow rolling invasion. Got anything else?
 

His stated ultimate objective was to get everybody agitated and arguing. Seems that objective hit its mark.

The sad part is that he would find people here that are sympatico to him.
 
Given his anti-business, anti-individualist, pro-environment ramblings, it doesn't surprise that he shares the views of hard-left Democrats in perceiving Trump as a supremacist, but I think it's important to note that he differs in many other ways.

I hadn't heard that the alleged shooters alleged manifesto mentioned Trump?

Don't know if that is all absolutely true, yet, but I hope that if that is being reported it would be proven true, not that I would like it or get any jollies from such a revelation.

I imagine the 5 million New Zealander's will be doing some mighty big introspective thinking in the wake of this vicious tragedy.

So sad!
