From an interview in new zealand politics the political leader of the right wing national party christopher luxon, revealed the following about himself.

https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/poli...r-luxon-is-rebranding-the-national-party.html
He's white, male, rich, bald and Christian. He has run a national airline and a multinational consumer goods company.
As well.
Environmentalists say he has impeccable climate change credentials. He's worked with NGOs to halt human trafficking. He's used his corporate roles to champion gender pay equity and the rainbow community. He's learning te reo Māori and hangs out with hipster media types at Rufus Wainwright gigs.

He has also added that he wants to promote more women and maori into politics and 'the work force . Increase welfare payments for the poor.

It would appear that at the next election new zealand people will be faced with trying to figure out which party is more left than the other.

Right = bad, Left = good?

it's new zealand, who cares?
NZ politics would be a massive breath of fresh air for many Americans. Very stably centrist, often ranked least corrupt in the world, strong mix of youth in govt, and few past 60 years old. Religion is not anywhere near influencing policy. Switches regularly between left and right orientated governments to keep a balance between business focus and social policy, but stays planted close to the center line. Tremendously strong economy for a little country that has mixed being rated the most capatilist in the world with euro style social programs. Sensible big decisions will get voting support from all parties if the decision is good for the country. US style partisanship will not block the important stuff.

So much there that the average American voter would love to see in the US govt.
