Hi.

What?

You want more?

Fine then.

I don't have to do this, you know.

But ok.

Because I think you've got potential.

WELCOME TO DEBATE POLITICS!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've made a few posts in the middle east forum... still finding my way around this place.

Just don't open the door to the left of the 'Sex and Sexuality' Forum. If you do we can't be responsible for what happens.

Please stick around.

thanks.

Damn you new posters not thoroughly telling us what your political platforms are. I need to know who supports Gun Control, Open Borders, Corporate Lawsuits against FileSharers, Copyright and Patend Abuse, Eminent Domain Abuse and other such outrageous things so that I can bash on you all early on like I allowed everyone else to do.

Ah hell. Welcome anyways you.

(please don't warn me for chumming around)

uh-oh, now I won't know where I stand...

well, I'm happy to answer direct questions...

I don't support gun control unless they're felons or we're talking about assault rifles. Honestly, I'd like for citizens to be able to own assault rifles if there were some magical way that they could be restricted to use for or against the government (IE to help if we get invaded or to help if we need to revolt.. and the revolt only in the case where we have a majority. No fringe groups committing terrorist acts). But I realize that isn't practical so I'll just keep it to hand guns.

I would only support open boarders if we have no socialistic tendencies what so ever. But considering that the bottom tax bracket gets 8 dollars back for every 1 dollar they pay in taxes it isn't a good idea to let in the horde of unskilled non english speaking people to the south. I would love to get more skilled workers though... so I'd support open boarders for skilled workers.

As to suits against file sharers... it depends... you are breaking the law.

The copywrite and patient laws do need to be reformed but you also have to be very careful to protect legitimate patient holders.

Eminent domain abuse... not sure what you're specifically talking about. If you're talking about a public school enforcing some basic dress code rules, then I don't think that's abuse. If you're tlaking about a city council condemning someone's building just because they want to build a shopping mall then I agree with you.

How's that?

First of all, thank you very much, Karmashock, for replying to me and being a good sport.

Assault Rifles ey, what about Natural Disasters or Riot situations where your property is in jeoparody? Nobody's coming to save you when that happens. Automatic Rifles will do the trick. I find them very necessary, But I also see that it's necessary to make sure felons and crazy people don't get automatic weapons (or any weapon for that matter), but reasonable law-abiding people like you and me who are thoroughly trained?

That's very economically libertarian of you. You want skilled english speaking workers? Check this out http://www.debatepolitics.com/asia-pacific/10870-philippines-need-more-immigrants-usa.html

Ah, damn. I disagree but it's not unreasonable enough for me to get all in a tangent. Most of these new laws though, most recently the digital copyright millenium act, were brought forth by the biggest media conglomerates. Although the information is copied and shared without cost, this creates a constant syndication of this information and it attracts a new market. It doesn't spawn a "download only" culture. Thats debateable.

where does that stop though, why not let people have rocket launchers, tanks, or heavy mount machine guns?

why not let them have personal heavy artillery or battleships?

you have to draw the line at some place or you'll be saying "yeah you can have an ICBM in your backyard"...

I want skilled workers more then anything. It takes less time to learn english then it does to become a doctor.

I believe in paying people for what is theirs. Look at russia or china... invent anything recently? They don't respect copywrite laws. And europe has a similar problem with medical breakthroughs and software. So they don't produce much of that either. Respect inventors or they won't invent.

Welcome aboard!
thanks!

a Rocket Launcher would have worked nicely in the riots. Anyways. I don't support a willy nilly hyper consumerism of warfare. I'm against out right Gun Control. Where people who have been trusted by the Government to use Guns while on Duty, who have had a wonderful crime record and all of these other things, are still denied a Conceal Carry Warrant despite his sanity, qualified expertise and training.

Could be illegal anyways if the owner doesn't have adequate zoning permits or license to handle such a high amount of Hazardous Material. Hahaha. Anyways, thats where one should draw the line of course. As for Rocket Launchers and Heavy Machine Guns. I gotta give that one some thought.

Agreed. How about non-profit low-quality free copies of Media?
