What's your source? Rasmussen has him at 46%.
Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's performance.
I don't think he will sink into the 30s for a while. 46% as his low is pretty impressive given the circumstances as well.

see link... Gallup; though Rasmussen tends to be more pretty accurate.

Yeah, if after all this he's still in the mid 40s, his spin control is doing a top-notch job.

Besides, if you disapprove of Obama, you're a racist. True story.

I figure it'll be a while if ever that Obama gets down into the 30's. Its going to take something major that completely angers his base completely for it to get down there I think. If health care failed to even pass I think it may've had a chance to get in the low 40's / high 30's. As it passed he split his base a bit, with some happy SOMETHING got done while the others mad not enough was done. I think if in 2 years we're still actively in Iraq that could cause it to slip. A few other things, likely national security related. But ultimately I think it'll be a while if at all that it hits the 30's because I think his base is too fully enamored with him still for them to be negative to the point needed for it to drop to those levels.

The base will get angry enough when more and more lose jobs. Hopefully the economy will turn around. I'd rather see Obama with a 50+ approval rating and a robust economy. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. And I think Iraq, security, health care and oil spills will take the back seat of concern when Americans can't afford new iPhones. We have been so spoiled.

My guess is he's getting pretty close to his bottom unless something major happens (like a double dip recession). His support base is large enough and ultimately the left is never going to sit on their asses and let a Republican be president if they can help it so they'll eventually probably come back around. Assuming no double dip happens (which if it does happen we could easily see Obama in the 30s or possibly lower), then I'm guessing he won't go below 40-42%.

He's teetering close to the 30s now in some polls.

All any of these polls reveal is that on a particular day, a particular group of folk (who may well have suffered indigestion or some such) answer a question by indicating disapproval of someone or other.

None of it really matters.

The only matter of some importance will be the amount of money that is spent corrupting the electorate's mind in order to return the incumbent to his office or to replace the incumbent with another bum that will also be corrupted over time.

LOL...

It matters in that his bubble has burst. The myth is smashed.
What really matters is the next elections.

Bush told us what he would do; and did.
He did nation build when he said he wouldn't, but 911 changed everything.
Even Einstein, a pacifist, said he would have signed up to fight the Nazi's if he were a young man. At times these shifts are called for, to ignore them would be dangerous.

Bush 43 told us what he wanted to do as well, though he was dumb to believe breaking no new taxes would endear him to the left.

Reagan did what he said he would do; he did it without FOXNEWS or talk radio and against a Democrat Congress; 3 for 4 ain't bad. The Dems that said they would cut spending as taxes... didn't. They never do. For them every economic season is a season for spending.

These numbers indicate that season is over, and that Obama has proven himself an incompetent executive.

You must be one of those tea-bagging conservatives who wants our President to fail.
Take your tea bags and soak them in a sea of silly polls.
Our President will not fail, nor will most of our people...

1. He is 2 points from "Never". ROTFLOL.
2. I am a Conservative, a recovered Socialist. I like the Tea Party.
3. Polls are reflections of opinion. I hate to report Obama is not of favorable opinion Dear Chap Earthworm.
4. He is failing. He is incompetent. He is the definition of The Peter Principle. See point 3.
5. Americans are resilient. We will overcome his mismanagement and damage.

How can you be so sure? He hasn't done well since he started...

A news report yesterday said it was down to 40%. Just one more tick will reach the 30's.

I believe a Double dip recession is what we do have. However we shall see.

Obama will be fine (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub...nistration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll); and for all of you lieing conservatives, Obama has done a lot of what he said in his campaign, especially with Iraq (http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5jreSy8UfO1brOcWboL_BNXZkc9Vg). According to PolitiFact | The Obameter: Tracking Barack Obama's Campaign Promises (a multiple time Pulitzer Prize winner), Obama has kept 120 promises, has compromised on 38 promises, has broken 20 promises, and 243 more promises are currently in the works.

Oh no - 2/5 of the country still loves him!

Somehow I cannot bring myself to see that as a negative  He's been in office for a year and a half, pushed through a lot of crap that people oppose, drug his feet on everything else - and he's still in the 40's.

I'd love for him to bottom out and become as hated as Bush but that's just not going to happen.

Not unless the media turns on him.
