The elections three months ago lead to a stallmate at our dear neighbor, the Czech Republic. They have 200 seats in the parliament, 100 went to the left and 100 went to the right. The winner of the elections was the ODS, political conservative, economically liberal. However, they could not manage to build a government out of it so far. The Christian Democrats rather wanted to make a deal with the Green Party, the Social Democrats wanted to form a government with the Communists. This did not lead to a government, too. So two weeks ago they had another idea, a coalition of Social Democrats and Christian Democrats, tolerated by the Communists. But again, it did not work.

So, Mr. Klaus, the President of the Czech Republic decided to give Mr. Topolanek, the leader of the ODS the order to form a new government and today it is reported to be complete.

This will be a minority government and needs approval at 4th of October this year. It is probable now, that ODS can forget about two things for the next legislative period. This is the flat tax and this is the deployment of an American missile defense system.
