Despite the ongoing costs of US military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, the outlook for the federal budget has grown substantially brighter.
Tax revenues are rising much faster than spending, according to Treasury Department numbers released last week. The recent trend is strong enough that, were it to continue, the budget could move into surplus in barely a year, one economist calculates.

Already, the federal deficit is shrinking toward about half the size that it has averaged since 1970, when analyzed as a percentage of gross domestic product.

US deficit is shrinking, for now | csmonitor.com

So how will the liberals spin this one? Will the Dems turn the good economy to bad with their punitive tax increases?

Almost to a surplus, eh?

Funny, the Treasury department reports the Govt had to borrow $240 billion in just the first 4 1/2 months of FY2007.

Total Debt of the US Govt:

09/29/2006 8,506,973,899,215.23
02/16/2007 8,746,051,281,807.75

I suppose to Bush apologists that counts as "substantially brighter."

And what was that work experince?

When have I opposed shrinking debt?
As for my post, yes it was an obvious spin, just repeating after you and your claims against the contrary. As Ireimon posted.

How is that shrinking the debt exactly? You're lack of rebuttal is dually noted.

It's what bourght about the shrinking deficit.

Why not try to rebut them instead?

Will the Democrats turn the good economy to bad with their punitive tax increases?

Republicans: $3 trillion more debt = "good economy"

I can't be clearer, when you are willing to respond in kind to the questions you post to me we can continue.

Get credit? Sorry, you don't get much credit for partially cleaning up after yourself. Bush created the enormous deficit in the first place.
