New audio: McCarthy said 25th Amendment 'takes too long' and wanted to reach out to Biden after January 6 attack

In yet another sign of how shockingly hypocritical, cowardly, mendacious, and mealy-mouthed the likely future house speaker is, it turns out McCarthy is on audio right after 1/6 seriously considering calling the 25th amendment on Donald Trump, and meeting with Biden to arrange a smooth transition of power.

So what happened? He was more afraid of losing his popularity and position with his criminal terrorist base than standing up and doing the right thing for the country and telling the barking dogs to heel.

“The new audio release of McCarthy is the latest in a series of such releases featuring the House GOP leader that have shed light on what he said privately to other House Republicans in the aftermath of the January 6 attack.

And the fact McCarthy was pressing one of his aides for details about how the 25th Amendment process would work shows there was a serious conversation at the highest levels of GOP leadership about the idea -- not just idle chatter -- even if it was ultimately deemed not a viable option.

Last month, audio showed that McCarthy did consider asking Trump to resign in the days after the riot, contradicting his office's earlier denials of New York Times reporting that he had done so…

McCarthy, who said he used to have breakfast with Biden when he was the vice president, also talked about what would be best for Biden, arguing that a smooth transition would "be beneficial to his presidency, too" and that Biden would be in a "stronger" position if he implores the country to move forward.

McCarthy can also be heard saying on the tape, "I'm trying to do it not from a basis of Republicans, of a basis of, hey, it's not healthy for the nation. That's a conversation I want to have with Biden himself."”

Is this yellow-bellied, lying coward with no principles or integrity the kind of “leader” who deserves to be one of the top leaders of this nation? I guess this is a democracy and people get what they want and deserve. Is this seriously the best America can do?

There are still very rare Republicans around with still a shred of character and integrity:

This is what he says in private:

This is how he lies in public:

Looks like McCarthy was one of many who realized that he was in physical danger if he told the truth. There's some really crazy, violent and lingering elements of this story that go unanswered. Who is going to fold first? And when are people going to actually notice this?

What McCarthy will eventually realize is that he could have been President, if he had followed his original instincts. Profiles in courage. He abandoned that role to Liz Cheney, and then spent his energy tearing her down. Instead he will always be known as a loser who sucked up to a psychopath.

Can't say I disagree with you here. He is what's wrong with DC politics.

So a US President making up baldfaced lies about rigged elections any time he doesn’t win them and then whipping up violence is not something “wrong with DC politics”?

Well, get ready for this new GOP “leadership” come November. It’s still a democracy and people get what they want, and deserve. Apparently this is the best America can do.

“But, but… Nancy didn’t call the Natiinal Guard fast enough on 1/6 and look what she made us do!”, LOL.
