Last night I heard from people who never saw the attack on our nation coming. I am not at all surprised at what happened and anyone following Trump and his supporters honestly wouldn't be either. This was all predictable and even warned about. Michael Cohen and the generals all told us that Trump wouldn't leave peacefully! Nevertrumpers and Democrats have been saying Trump is not going to change and that he wasn't joking about wanting to stay President for three terms or joking about overturning the election.
Every Republican has to really do some serious soul searching in the next two years as you sit back and watch the adults fix your mess and failures at every level of government.
I hope this is a wake up call for anyone who was ignorant enough to support and vote for trump in the 2020 election. I used to be a Republican. In 2016 I registered as a Democrat for the first time because I knew Republicans preached values and principles but their actions over the past four years were not the values my parents taught me. You became cultish while you fantasized talk of overthrowing the government or starting civil war. Not because of any real social issues but because you thought it would be fun! It's not puzzling to me how some members of my own family had abandoned common sense.
You were brainwashed by Fox News and radicalized by trump, his enablers and conspiracy theories. You willingly chose to reject reality and instead shared fake news and memes full of wrong information. Rejecting your own values and common decency. You were told you were winning when in reality you were not. Enough is enough.
You can't ignore racial injustice and other ideas because someone told you its "socialism". You can't preach and raise your children not to be liars when you have supported the biggest liar in modern American politics. You can't claim people are corrupt or pedophiles without evidence while ignoring trump and the type criminals he has hung around with. You can't claim what about the other side anymore. I know you know better. You raised us to be better and as a new generation, more representative of the American people enter politics for the first time. I know we will better.
