Who says misguided mob insanity is not contagious?
Yawn.
Wake me when they get cold and come back inside.
I may have.Fell asleep during grade school science classes eh?
I may have.
Regardless, I aced science for the first sixteen years of my education. I earned physics and chemistry minors on my math degree.

And yet no regard for this decision that was agreed upon by 7000 Universities and Colleges around the country? I have a cousin with a College Degree in History, and as a Senior citizen, he now majors in Conspiracy Theories. I could hook you up...
So because a whole bunch of people believe it then it must be true? With your logic then God and Satan must be real since there's like a billion Christians who believe in him too.
I actually believe in God, but not because a bunch of other people do. I do believe that there are more studied people than me on the topic of God and Spirituality, just like their are more studied people than me on the topic of Climatology. I will read both with an open mind.

I still tutor. Do you need help?Uhuh.
I have regard for it. Contempt is a regard.
Colleges used to be a place where freedom of thought and expression was protected. Now the reverse is true.
Understandable. It was a comment, not an argument.I see no evidence for your statement.

Since you want it fleshed out, here are the basics. Climate change is real but slow, and for all practical purposes, irreversible. There is no need for action, much less urgent or precipitous action. Declaring an emergency is exactly the wrong thing to do and shows that the universities are putting politics above knowledge. Hence, contempt.
Don't forget naturally occurring. The IPCC number is 0.06°/decade or 0.6°/century if there were no humans on Earth. The bolded statement above is what I would add. Even if greenhouse gases were drastically reduced today, we will still reach a minimum 1.5 deg C rise. We are currently at 0.8 to 0.9 deg C rise, and we are already seeing the effects.
IPCC 1.5-Degree C Special Report | Center for Climate and Energy Solutions
- Global warming of 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels poses greater risks than previously believed. These risks can be substantially reduced by limiting warming to 1.5 degrees
- Limiting warming to 1.5 degrees C requires dramatic emission reductions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by around 2050. This would entail unprecedented transformations of energy, land, urban, and industrial systems, including measures to achieve “negative emissions” by removing carbon from the atmosphere.
- Adaptation efforts are currently insufficient to prevent losses associated with 1.5 degrees C warming, but can be significantly increased to reduce the negative consequences of climate change.
What are those facts?

Meanwhile climate science deniers/climate truthers, who couldn't even get into a first year science course at any University, are still unquestioningly swallowing "sciencey sounding" blog posts by non-scientist nutters on junkscience conspiracy blogs.
