I was actually referring to calm's historically ludicrous claims regarding Morocco and Palestine Mandate. The administration in neither entity was "asylum friendly".There were normal every day Arabs that helped the Jews in many regions of the Middle east. Many Jews and Arabs lived alongside each other peacefully in these regions. I am talking about everyday people, not governments. Much of the middle east antisemitism was generated by the Arab warlords, and the Arab government officials who kept stirring up the frenzy.
Whatever any Arab population had to do in the unfriendliness or not, they had absolutely no say in it whatsoever. And we're talking holocaust refugees here, not Jews that had already lived in the respective areas for centuries and could hardly be considered "European" (primarily Ashkenazim).
Absolutely. What every day Polish people did for the Jews was very courageous.
P.S. In case it has escaped you, calm is continuously trying to build a case against Jews. Here by falsifying facts with the intention to show that Arabs were always friendly towards them, the demonstrated antagonism being just a Zionist slander case.
Even before the 1930s, Palestinian Arabs were in majority totally hostile and it didn't take any warlord to instigate that. Had it not been for the British catastrophic policy of tending to Arab sensibilities, far more would have survived the Holocaust by being granted entry there. But one need remember that the initiative for this repressive policy came from the Arabs, within and without British Palestine.
The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem was a religious power and made overtures towards Hitler to the point of being invited to and greeted in Nazi Germany with pomp and glory.
