This morning, I saw (and heard) an Xfinity (a.k.a. Comcast) commercial. It did not attempt to tell others how it was superior to AT&T; it just told us how bad AT&T is. (For the record, I have Xfinity telephone service.)
It struck me that this is what most politicians do, also: They really do not spend much time and effort explaining to us just how good they are; rather, they spend most of their time and effort telling us just what a disaster their respective opponents would be.
Perhaps that is because negative emotions are greater motivators than positive ones.
Or perhaps it is because these people cannot really say much about themselves that is positive (and not obviously untrue).
Thoughts?
