Here are some of the negative effects of politics, especially divisive politics

1) Stress is increased (which causes unnecessary illness in people)
2) Lower productivity (nation is impacted economically)
3) Misinformation delivered (knowledge of the real problems-needed-to-be-resolved is absent)
4) Disunity of the nation (people do not work as a team and therefor results are less than desired)
5) Lack of agreement on needed-by-the-nation programs (unnecessary suffering by the people of the nation)
6) Hate is created (an emotion that creates problems - does not solve them)
7) Corruption increases among parties (corruption is human nature but can be controllable. Corruption in parties is not controllable as it is allowed)

Differences of opinion is human nature and therefore compromises are always needed. Nonetheless, compromises are a lot more difficult when "LARGE" groups are involved as there is little hope that all within either group are willing to compromise if their own personal wants are not met.

We need to find ways to reduce the effect of "politics" in our lives. We would all bet better (and happier) because of it.

I think that the vast majority of the 330,000,000 people in this country have.

They do not pay attention to the pols.

Most Americans probably cannot name their Congressperson or even city council member.

Many (most?) people probably have a "a pox on both your houses" attitude.
