Nearly 50,000 Protest for Fair Elections in Moscow

Following a peaceful sanctioned protest, riot police began detaining dozens in Moscow's center.

Moscow protest crowds.

Rather than decreasing due to police violence and arrests, the demonstrations are growing larger. Putin left Moscow for occupied Crimea.

This harkens back to the fall of Soviet Russia, and the start of the popular response against the Communist coup attempt to retake the government in 1991. 1991 Soviet coup d'etat attempt - Wikipedia

I fully support Russian's overthrowing what amounts to be a semi-fascist oligarch like Putin. Hopefully this might lead to real democracy in Russia.

Let's wait and see what happens with any popular opposition candidate emerges. In the past, they've been shot dead, arrested and detained, and jailed during election days.

With all the oil, gas and natural resources Russia has, it should be a huge Norway. Russians should have a very high standard of living.

They don't have a high standard of living.

And it's because Russia, the country, is mismanaged.

Free and fair elections would help elect competent and less corrupt politicians in to office.

The Putin regime ruling circle is composed of siloviki (security service veterans) and wealthy oligarchs.

Ergo, they control all of the state-power and most of the wealth of Russia. Such a cabal does not surrender power easily.

They should, and for the good of the Russian nation.

You haven't heard a peep out of the Trump White House or his State Department regarding the violent police actions against activist protesters in Moscow.

Any US administration previous to Trump would have been all over this.
