All but a handful of House Democrats are calling on Speaker Paul D. Ryan to disband the special committee established last year to probe connections between abortion providers and medical researchers, accusing the panel of “continued abuses which jeopardize the integrity of the House and the safety of Americans.”
The letter represents a new salvo in the partisan warfare over the Select Investigative Panel established in October in response to a series of undercover videos produced by anti-abortion activists. All but two Democrats voted against creating the panel, and Democratic members of the committee have called since then on several occasions for its dissolution.

The new letter, signed by 178 of 188 House Democrats, raises the protests to a new level, asking Ryan (R-Wis.) for a written response to their accusations of harassment, intimidation and McCarthyism on the part of the panel’s Republican members and staff.

Its time to end this charade. Nothing but a pathetic partisan witchhunt grounded in no factual information.

Whoa, Democrats protecting Planned Parenthood's baby organ mills?! Shocker.

It no longer matters what this really results in, the politics of this issue demand that Republicans keep investigating anything abortion related to appeal to their supporters and there is equal demand that Democrats call to end the "probe" as that appeals to their supporters.

It is an election cycle we are inching ever closer towards, it means this will get worse... not better. And entirely for political opportunism reasons.

What "organ mills?" No wonder dems are fed up.

The organs they harvest from those unborn they kill. You know, those unborn they can't even bring themselves to say are human.

They do harvest fetal tissue for research, including organs. This doesn't make them "organ mills."

Ummm...how?

Ummm...how?

Well, to use the closest analogue, "puppy mills," puppies are bred specifically for mass sales and profit.

Human women are not impregnated specifically with the purpose of mass producing fetuses for Planned Parenthood.

Oh wait. Some of the right wingers thought that was true, didnt they?

Harvest or not, where do these clowns get the authority to give money to private companies?

You're right. We'd better take away healthcare benefits for veterans because some of that money gets into the hands of private companies.

Because people are idiots and were sending them death threats over bull****.

They weren't making a profit. But you people flipped your **** anyway. You're so easily manipulated. The controversy was hurting their organization, which is exactly what your right-wing directors wanted. So they stopped in order to quell the controversy. You see this as proof they did something wrong. I want you to remember that next time some CEO gets ousted by the eeeeevil "PC police." If the board of directors lets them go, they must have been in the wrong.

Did you play sick the day your classmates were taught the difference between giving and earning? If you missed that class, here is a catch up course.

The feds buy, aka purchase, many things from private corporations that are essential to the government operations. Like cars and pencils.

The fed gives money away to Planned Parenthood. It gets nothing in return that is directly essential to the government operations.

Feel better now?

Jesus christ they still believe this.

Some people still believe that Obama is a Muslim born in Kenya, that the US blew up the WTC, that the Earth is only a few thousand years old, that global warming is a hoax, that the moon landing was faked, and that Donald Trump is qualified to be president of the USA.

People tend to believe all sorts of crazy things.

They felt threatened so thats why they stopped selling Fetal tissue ? Absolute nonsense.

PP has been dealing with threats from nutty people for years and years and its never stopped them from doing anything.

They stopped because they got caught and the House investigations should continue

Keep telling yourself that. They weren't "selling" tissue. They were being reimbursed for part of the costs of harvesting and transportation of tissue.

The organization maintains that accepting compensation is “fully legal, appropriate, and common among health care providers,” but as one of the nation’s largest charities, it will now cover its own costs of donating the fetal tissue.

LOL!!!!

This sooooo funny. The cons defecating their pants over PP accepting reimbursement for their expenses in procuring fetal tissue for research from private companies. Now they can use taxpayers grant money to cover their expenses.

Cons are funny.
Funny cons.

What idiots believing the ghouls own words. They need to be more like demoncats and plug their ears while chanting lalalalalala.

They did nothing wrong, they were simply covering the cost if their donations. ....Lol

If they did nothing wrong why did they change their policy?

Riiight. I take it you're one of those people who thinks you can harvest organs from a fetus and transport them for research at the price of a game of thrones season on blu-ray.

Because sometimes public perception matters more than reality.

You, also, must believe you can make profit by harvesting fetal tissue, and transporting it for the price of a game of thrones season on blu-ray.

Really, depends on your point of view - you talk about the 178 who want to end the probe but I'd say that if only 2 Democrats voted against the committee probe in the first place and now 10 Democrats didn't sign this letter, that says that there are now 5 times as many Democrats who favour continuing and completing the probe or at the very least aren't opposed to it - that's progress for transparency and accountability.

Jesus christ they still believe this.

You see video of a bunch of dead babies on tables and people picking through them for serviceable organs and it becomes hard to forget... if you have a soul, anyway.
