House Rules Chairman David Lewis (R-Harnett) has been charged by federal prosecutors with making false statements to a bank and failure to file a tax return.

The charges were filed with a federal court in Charlotte on Wednesday. They come one day after former congressman and N.C. Republican Party Chairman Robin Hayes was sentenced, along with a Durham billionaire and an associate, for their roles in a bribery scheme.

Federal prosecutors typically charge defendants by information instead of an indictment when they have arranged a plea deal.

Both NC State chambers are considered ‘battlegrounds’ by Ballotpedia. R’s lead 29-21 and 55-45. Much is at stake with the D governor having no veto power over Remaps.

This 5th House election of the decade sees a 3rd map being forced on the R’s by court order. D’s are guaranteed two House pick-ups in a state currently 10-3 R.

One wing of the next R Party is the sane R governors in OH, VT, NH, MA, and MD. The map this year for governors is small and favors the GOP. D’s have been the the governor in MT for 16 straight years.

Everything trump this week has been a disaster. USPS, the Senate report, Bannon, trump’s ridiculous comments today in PA about Biden, and the dishonest ad lying about Biden and Pharma.

What isn’t being reported about Bannon is his handiwork in Europe helping reich-wing parties get elected.
