NBA shameful statement on Hong Kong Protests

You really need to get out of the 1950's and move into the 21st century. China hasn't been communist since the Clinton years.

I am in step with the Chinese themselves.

Deng did not believe that the fundamental difference between the capitalist mode of production and the socialist mode of production was central planning versus free markets. He said, "A planned economy is not the definition of socialism, because there is planning under capitalism; the market economy happens under socialism, too. Planning and market forces are both ways of controlling economic activity".[SUP][104][/SUP] Jiang Zemin supported Deng's thinking, and stated in a party gathering that it did not matter if a certain mechanism was capitalist or socialist, because the only thing that mattered was whether it worked.[SUP][43][/SUP] It was at this gathering that Jiang Zemin introduced the term socialist market economy, which replaced Chen Yun's "planned socialist market economy".[SUP][43][/SUP] In his report to the 14th National Congress Jiang Zemin told the delegates that the socialist state would "let market forces play a basic role in resource allocation".[SUP][105][/SUP] At the 15th National Congress, the party line was changed to "make market forces further play their role in resource allocation"; this line continued until the 3rd Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee),[SUP][105][/SUP] when it was amended to "let market forces play a decisive role in resource allocation".[SUP][105][/SUP] Despite this, the 3rd Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee upheld the creed "Maintain the dominance of the public sector and strengthen the economic vitality of the State-owned economy".[SUP][105][/SUP]

Nope.

That's just denial.

Dude, you've been arguing denial for years, and sticking to the absurd claim China is Communist for over a week.

It's merely a fact.

That China is engaged in capitalism is more than a fact. It's an ugly reality, as most American manufacturing workers have discovered since the early Y2k's.

Please read the link I provided.

Fact: China is no longer communist.

Jack: China is communist even through they practice economic capitalism.

Me: :lamo

Does anyone know when the NBA players are in China do they kneel for the Chinese Anthem?

NBA-China Fight Reveals Danger of Communist Party
Jonathan Ward, NBC News

. . . This is the China of 2019. These actions are taking shape in a world in which America is still the primary superpower. But the Chinese Communist Party has in fact laid out a detailed program of strategy and action which would propel it to dominance by the symbolic year of 2049, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. While specialists, experts and foreign policy professionals can and have warned about China’s growing militarism, surveillance state and its ultimate ambitions for years now, the methods of the Chinese Communist Party are finally reaching across the Pacific.
Inside the People’s Republic of China, the Communist Party has built up a massive system of repression. In the province of Xinjiang, over one million people have reportedly been placed inside concentration camps as their culture and language are systematically destroyed. Inside Tibet, torture and “cultural genocide” have been instruments of Communist Party rule for decades. . . .

So, the "Communists" have figured out how to be better at capitalism than the Capitalists. :lamo

You are missing the point, or you realize you are wrong and you're trying to deflect.

Uh, no. The point is this so-called communist country is kicking the world's ass (especially ours) in capitalism. And, that is as absurd as global cooling.

This has nothing to do with either communism or capitalism as economic systems. It has to with Communist Party means of control and repression, and ambitions for world domination, just like the old communists of the Soviet Union.

He's wrong while also being right.

We are a country with a market, not the other way around. If this country’s Fortune 500 companies value access to Chinese markets more than the vital interests of the United States, then it’s imperative for the American people to marshal both political and consumer power against them until those companies are forced to choose who they will serve.

The bold is no longer true. The rest of the quote is spot on tho.

China to surpass US as world's biggest consumer market this year -
Nikkei Asian Review

China is expected to overtake the U.S. to become the world's largest consumer of goods this year despite a slowdown in the economy and retail sales, according to a research report.

Chinese Consumers Now Rule the World. Get Used to It

It’s way past time to stop calling China the world’s factory.

The country is increasingly the world’s consumer. Forget the old investment and export-focused growth model. Even more important is the changing nature of consumption, which no longer revolve around staples: Increasing sums are being plowed into movies, tourism and health care. Investors ignore this seismic shift at their peril.

BTW: they are obviously not "communist."
