The song was actually released in the 1980s so yeah I guess your right.

I still have the T-shirt though there are only a few places where I could actually wear something with a swastika with a big red line through it with NAZI PUNKS FVCK OFF ON IT

November 22, 1983. THe civil rights professor at cornell law was a huge ted kennedy monica. My best friend was a punk rocker-he used to play gigs in the village. He went down and got all his buddies DK tshirts. we all sat in the front row of class. Professor Eisenberg gave us a funny look and looked at his calendar

YOU ARE FVCKING ASS HOLES HE SHOUTED when he realized it was the 20th aniversary of Oswald day.

I think aryan boy jacks off a bit on this board

Dude, the song wasn't about actual nazis though, it was about jock punks, you know, punks who act like steroid induced jocks from high school, bouncers and ****, it was about them.

right you are -Jello and East Bay Ray didn't like the macho punks. there was a huge split among the punksters back then. The stormfront aryan racist punks really hadn't gained much visibility then-it was a few years later before that illness cropped up in Europe and part of the USA

You can interpet it that way and your probably right but if you think about it aren't they kinda similar? And a lot of punks did use the whole nazi thing for some reason but as soon as that song was released people stopped.

yeah dude, it may have been far enough back in the day that most people didn't even associate the term skinhead with nazi
Most skinheads aren't nazis. They just got a bad rep because nazis started to shave their heads as a new look. A lot of the best punk bands consist of skinheads including the one in my sig.

Oh yeah and turtledude, I must register my shock that you are familiar with that type of music as punk music tends to associate itself with not even liberal but socialist and anarchist beliefs. Not even I am that extreme.

Actually one of the reasons I like this song cause I know exactly who Jello Biafra is talking about. Those god damn bastards with ****ing mohawks at the shows beat up people because they think its cool and seek to try and make everyone elses time miserable. I think it has to do with the band. Hardcore shows for some reasons attract the biggest assholes but at Rancid shows nobody acts like a dick. I went to the warped tour when I was like 13 and I wasn't sure what to expect because I was still kinda young but those guys were cool there. Now the Warped Tour sucks though. THe only good bands there was the Dropkick Murphys, Transplants and the Street Dogs.

What the Hell-I am an ANARCO Capitalist-at least so says Ron Kuby.

My favorite band while in lawschool was the Clash-hardly right wing though they really weren't the socialists some claimed

You do know that Johnny Ramone (the real talent in the band) was an NRA life member and GOP party member as well (Hence JOey's song about the KKK taking his baby away etc)

good music is good music no matter what it is called and the Clash was the best there was for several years. The ramones put on great concerts and anything that pissed off the Kennedys is worth listening to even if the lead singer is named Jello.

I actually always figured that the Clash were kinda moderate socialists. At the very least they were extremely liberal. You will find that most punk music is very very very liberal. No use arguing about politics with fans of them either. They will more likely insult you or kick your ass then debate you first :)

actually, to be quite honest, punk music is what got me into politics. I used to have really really really socialist beliefs but then I kinda moved a little bit to the centre. However now I'm starting to move a bit more left again. Kinda weird I guess. I've always had though a very strong stance on civil liberties. I know whats right its only a question of how to implement a just, fair, and happy society and not have it lead to hunger or anarchy (not that kinda anarchy).

socialism is a good belief system for the young. however its moronic for those who actually are in the real world.

to quote the late great Joe Strummer

"You grow up and you calm down" (even though what follows speaks of fascism) or as Sir Winston was said to have said

If you are not a liberal at 20 you have no heart but is you are not a conservative at 30 you have no brain

I've always hated that quote.

Well I dunno about that. Just because it has never been implemented correctly doesn't mean it can't happen. Obviously socialism in iteself cannot work just the same as pure libertarianism can never work but I don't think that you can entirely dismiss especially based on the whole democratic socialism movement.

I'm not really a socialist but I'm beginning to re explore the idea of socialism because I've read some interesting things about it that I've never seen before. Particularily the more moderate socialist movements such as Euro Socialism.

socialism can work for a limited time in a closed society. It can't work in an open society in modern times. imposing lowest common denominator mediocrity on all of us never works

What you think of socialism is probably different from what it really is.
