Navy shooter didn't use AR-15

What about the fact that every news station hyped their anti-gun agenda claiming the shooter had an AR-15? Would that be considered biased reporting? Even Democratic politicians jumped on the band wagon on the floor. These people need to get real.

The way the media reports gun stories in general clearly shows a bias. Nut job shooting up white people( or alleged racist shoots a bunch of black people) and the story is news for weeks. The anti-2nd amendment scum in the media are giving a soap box to every anti-2nd amendment scumbag out there. They telling us what kind of weapon the nutjob had, how much ammo he had, and where/how he got it.They tell us what kind of hobbies he has,They whine how we need more anti-2nd amendment laws. They even interviews with the victims or their loved ones. But if someone uses their firearm to prevent a crime or stop a criminal it gets little to no media attention. They do not give soap boxes to 2nd amendment advocates. They do not talk about how we need less gun control. They rarely tell us what kind of firearm they guy had. They do not tell us how much ammo he had or where he bought the gun, They do not tell us his hobbies. Nor do they interview any of the people that person saved.

It would be interesting to know who was the first to report the story that he had an AR-15 and where exactly they got that info. My guess is somebody just made it up out of thin air. If we could find that reporter they should be publicly humiliated and forced to answer why they did this.

One report I read said that there was one there at the scene, but it wasn't his and he hadn't touched it. Somebody guessed and jumped to a conclusion in the heat of the moment.

First report I had heard said he used a full auto.

Media and circus. Their both putting on a show, but only one is any fun to watch.

It is my supposition that having seen an interview with a woman who was present during the shooting say something like 'there was a pop then pop, pop, pop' the interviewer assumed the rapid fire succession indicated an assault weapon was used. Once this ONE reporter advanced HIS opinion BASED ON HIS ASSUMPTION the rest of the MSM just followed suit.

Whats worse is they wont apologize or retract their statements.

It was a bad day for libs, Obama and the MSM.

The shooter wasn't white, there was no Tea Party connection, no scary looking AR-15.
Aaron Alexis, (the shooter) took VP Joe Biden's advice and bought a shotgun.
The shooter was a liberal and supporter of Barack Obama.
And it wasn't even Friday the 13th.

What I read on "The Hill" Defense Blog that someone picked up a 5.56 (Remington .223) spent rifle cartage and just assumed that Aron Alexis was armed with a AR-15. Why not a M-16 or a Bushmaster ?

It was the armed police response team that was armed with rifles chambered for the 5.56.

Uh yeah, what happen to all the stories about this??

The victims stay dead, whatever the delivery system the madman used.

I Googled navy yard shooter news and got 125 million results.

There are plenty of stories out there and there will probably be more.

This story will probably stay in the news for quite a while.

When involved in a gun related incident if the person using the gun is white and well to do he/she is reported as a "gun collector or gun enthusiast or sportsman". If the person using the gun is non-white and/or blue collar or Southern the national press will refer to the person's "weapons cache" and they will count each round the person possesses.

Everyone gets credited with using an "assault weapon" or an "AR-15" no matter what weapon they used. We will also get the "clip" count. A guy could have a Mossberg Plinkster .22 rifle with 4 mags, an SKS with 4 mags, a CZ-82 with 4 mags and a Ruger Mark III with 6 magazines. He will be reported as having a weapons cache, that includes an SKS "assault rifle", 16 "clips" and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition. The "over 1,000 rounds" includes a bulk box of .22LR - which, of course they don't report and probably don't understand the history of .22LR packaging and sales.

What the world hears is "...a weapons cache that included 4 guns - one of which was an SKS assault rifle - 16 clips and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition." Why?

Because many reporters don't know their hole from an ass in the ground when it comes to guns and because editors want to lead with horror, death, mayhem and terror. In the end, the Press knows better, they simply want to sex it up.

There is a perfectly good reason for this. You have to see the media information guide related to AR-15s:

So what?

The Libbos weren't saying "so what" when they assumed Alexis was a white, southern male from Texas.

What "libbos" were claiming this? The identity of the shooter was known fairly early on.
