Republicans are hoping the 1/6 investigation will go away when the GOP takes over Congress in November. Not so fast. Once these cases are referred to the DOJ, they become a DOJ investigation. So unfortunately, even with a GOP congress, these criminals will still have nowhere to hide and will have to face the music.

In the case of Navarro, they just wanted to question him on things he has already written about extensively in his book for the public, not on any private conversations he had with Trump. He wanted to make money selling books telling the public all about his criminal activity, but then hide behind “executive privilege” so he doesn’t have to answer to the law about them. It turns out you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Bannon has already gone through all this- his criminal trial is scheduled to begin this summer.

The law may be slow, but it’s not stupid. Trump and his mobsters are learning that the hard way.

“ The House select committee investigating the insurrection at the US Capitol filed contempt reports Sunday night for former Trump White House aides Dan Scavino and Peter Navarro, claiming it granted Scavino six extensions of his deadline to sit for an interview and hand over documents and noting that several of the issues Navarro said he could not discuss he had previously written about in his book.”

It is obvious Scavino and Navarro are hostile to the Committee and in inherent contempt. Six extensions of the deadline for an interview shows that. It also shows how nice and gentle the Committee is being when in the past a contempt citation would have been issued earlier. Just before citation is when most people come through with what is asked of them. It also appears, IMO, subpoenas were slow to be issued.

The longer they obstruct and stonewall the more the details become foggy....... over time.

All of this 'investigation' will come to naught if the dems don't start getting the doj to bring charges.

To think that trump and all of his associates will walk free after four years of theft and chaos is beyond belief if nothing comes of it.

Justice for the wealthy and justice for the rest of us. Ain't america grand?

Unfortunately, the wheels of justice grind slowly. They are not as fickle as the passions of the day for the mob. But that gives criminals a false sense of security.

Here is the original "Teflon Don". He too would snicker every time he got acquitted in court, and the crowds would cheer him. It looked like nothing was ever going to stick to him---- until it did- long after the mobs stopped caring.

The votes on Trump White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino and Trump's onetime trade adviser, Peter Navarro, came after the committee filed reports Sunday night outlining the ways in which both men evaded investigators.
