The main protease enzyme in covid-19 is responsible for maturation of the initial polyprotein into the active virus. Inhibition of this enzyme kills the virus by preventing it from becoming mature & infective.
Based on computer structural analysis, the following natural products were found to be potent inhibitors of this enzyme.
Hesperidin (from citrus fruits) See Hesperidin - Wikipedia
Diosmin (from citrus fruits) See Diosmin - Wikipedia
Rutin (from citrus fruits) See Rutin - Wikipedia
Apiin (from celery & parsley) See Apiin - Wikipedia
Several of these are available on the Internet as dietary supplements. I found hesperidin on Amazon as capsules.
In common with other naturally occurring inhibitors recently posted, these compounds are classed as polyphenolics, apparently a vulnerability of this enzyme.
