NATO Black Sea exercise

NATO will hold the Poseidon 19 naval exercise March 1-8 in the Black Sea in solidarity with Ukraine. Navy ships from the United States, Romania, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain and Turkey will participate. On February 22, the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force, General David Goldfine, stated that the United States was developing a new strategy for waging war against Russia and China, the essence of which is “hidden invasion” deep into the enemy’s territory and striking its weak points. The Black Sea is an international body of water and NATO ships will have a more robust presence there in light of Russia attacking three Ukraine boats last November and kidnapping the sailors. Those sailors remain POWs in a Moscow prison.

There's nothing new in all this. Non litoral states are limited in their presence and duration in the Black Sea, and the USN really will soon have much bigger problems in Asia re South China Sea where its position against China's PLAN weakens daily.
