“The fact is a wall is an immorality. It's not who we are as a nation,” Pelosi said. “It’s a wall between reality and his constituents, his supporters."

Bizarre journalism.

D-ABC writes the title, yet doesn’t follow it up in the article.

Hilarious how Nancy played down impeachment, but one second after getting the gavel, out comes the impeachment talk.

Go for Impeachment Nancy. Just Do It.

It’s clear as usual you only listen to sound bites. She clearly laid everything out and said she was waiting for the mueller report as well as not wanting to do impeachment for political reasons. But you, being you, only listen to what right wing radio tells you.

Wow, the Democrats taking control seems to have your triggered. The Republicans should have done their oversight job. You can thank Denis Nunes for Pelosi.

Impeachment will either happen or not happen based upon the political winds and the Mueller report. Any discussion of impeachment at this time is pre-mature. If the Mueller report is sufficiently scathing, impeachment will be a natural consequence. If the political winds support it, the consequences will be felt by the Republicans. If impeachment is forced, as it was in 1998, the consequences will be felt by the Democrats. r

Perhaps what triggers you about Pelosi is knowing that she has the power AND can read the political winds. You have nothing to fear in Pelosi; you have much to fear about the cards in Mueller's hands. Rummy!

LOL. That's all the LEFT does is create and listen to sound bites.

Democrats will move forward with impeachment regardless of reason.

what miss Nancy fails to see is that even though a lot of us are disparaged at The Donald’s shooting from the hip, we actually support His efforts at curbing the gutter rats that call themselves congress.

There are always impeachment bills proposed, that means little. In fact, you could build a nice comedy routine around bills introduced by congressman that went no where. The bill in committee is not a serious step toward impeachment except as a placeholder.

The Democrats will not have a serious impeachment attempt unless there are serious charges by which to impeach (although there already are sufficient ground for impeach) AND the political winds support it (the political winds do not yet support it). The latter is contingent on how scathing the Mueller report actually is.

Now if Trump were smart (and he is not, so let's talk hypothetically), he would engage the Democratic congress on things that could actually get done, like immigration reform and infrastructure. If he can keep the Dems busy on good, positive meaningful work, they will have less time and interest in the oversight aspect. If he does nothing but taunt and disparage the Democratic congress, I think you will see the Dems working overtime on nothing but oversight.

Busy hands are happy hands.

I don't understand what you are whining complaining about. ABC definitively followed up with the question: "Many Democrats are talking about impeachment. You've said it would be sad and divisive for the country to pursue impeachment. Are you willing to rule it out?"

Pelosi clearly answered with: "We have to wait and see what happens with the Mueller report," Pelosi said, referring to special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. "We shouldn't be impeaching for a political reason, and we shouldn't avoid impeachment for a political reason. So we'll just have to see how it comes," Pelosi responded.

I can see how you missed it because it was buried in paragraph two of the article.

What "the right" or Trump's base doesn't get about this, is Trump has done nothing for anyone but that 30% base. Impeaching TRump, isn't gonna increase his popularity like it did with Clinton. Even if he's impeached but not removed, like Clinton, there will be no big boost for Trump. He'll just be seen as the terrible "president" he is, and go down in flames. Sure you 30% will cry and scream about it, but it won't earn him points like it did Clinton, because it's not just partisan nonsense excuses like it ws with Clinton, it's multiple serious ethical and legal issues, and REAL corruption this time.

He brought up impeachment last year and all of three people were a part of it. Just basically reintroduced the same thing and it will go nowhere at this point as well.

For sure, and you also have freshman Rep. Tlaib state yesterday, "we're gonna impeach the mother****er". Its going to happen regardless of anything. Thinking otherwise is just foolish.

Maybe, but this year demorats control the House committees and hold the House majority. BTW, I noticed that you felt it necessary to include "at this point". Even dear Nancy seems to allow some wiggle room by stating that we should (not must) wait for the Mueller report before impeachment and that prosecuting (rather than impeaching) a sitting POTUS is likely constitutional.

Good. Trump has been a criminal for decades and never should have been elected, and wouldn’t have had the press done its due diligence.

That's pretty much the case. The important thing is that Democrats, unlike the Republicans in the 1990s, aren't going to impeach unless there is clear violations of significant laws. Jerry Nadler, the new Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, stated that there is no barrier to indicting a sitting president.

Shooting from the hip? That's a creative way of saying "criminal moron".

Well, the media did try to cover how unfit the man was, but people just didn't listen.

Did you miss this?

Both those statements are accurate, though.

Democrats should wait for Mueller's report, but there's no constitutional requirement that they do so.
Prosecuting a sitting POTUS is not a constitutionally-settled question.

Moreover, the 1998 Clinton impeachment was obvious politics. There really wasn't an egregious crime and it was orchestrated at a time when Clinton was perceived to be doing a good job, especially with a strong economy.

Trump will not have any of those advantages. If the Mueller report is scathing, the political winds may well be blowing in the direction that not only is impeachment an imperative, but removal is required. Again, it depends on the magnitude of the Mueller allegations.

With 17 separate investigations being conducted by several federal and state law enforcement agencies, its bordering on naive to think that they will all conclude with Trump's vindication.

net-net, if Trump is impeached, it won't be comparable to the Clinton impeachment.

I put "at this point" because we do not know what the future holds... primarily Mueller's report.

I will agree with you on that point( granted, the perjury charge was enough for law license suspensions ). I just don't see a scenario where even a Mueller report that shows zero wrong doing or potential malfeasance doesn't result in an impeachment push.
