MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell Announces He's Launching 'MyStore,' a Patriotic Rival to Amazon

I have searched for a pillow on and off through my whole life that works right for me.

My Pillow was a gift from the wife who has also been involved in a similar search. The price was the roadblock for me. She spends with a lesser level of price resistance.

The My Pillow is far and away the best pillow I have EVER slept on.

My Pillow has an odd pricing structure and strategy. You can pay full listed price or google a discount and get it for about half off. Not what I'd do, but I'm not a bazillionaire.
What does that have to do with the products listed that aren't pillows? Those are from other people, sites, not his. And the prices I listed are after discounts applied at his site, not before.

So it will be the racist friendly, conspiracy nutters welcoming version of an informercial shop? A kind of QVC for Trumpers, Qanoner's, born again GOP's and right wing media outlets, but then in a layout stolen from either Amazon or Alibaba?

Now, when you put it that way, it has a chance.

After all, much of right wing media exists to prey on its audience.

The list of right wing scams is almost endless now. From the “Freedom Tour” that Ollie North and Sham Hammity ran, and mostly pocketed the money from, to Armstrong William’s fake fundraising for Ben Carson and Allan West, to the fake “Build the Wall” scam that Steve Bannon ran.

These are only some of the more egregious examples of a right wing fundraising industry which has learned how to keep the rubes giving from televangelists, who have been doing it successfully since the days of tent revival meetings.

Lindell is tailor made for the role. He’s already a well established con man.

And, I’m sure that half the billy bobs in single wide land bought a My Pillow for three times what they would have paid at Wal Mart for another chinese pillow, and bragged about it to their friends.

After seeing the goods he's selling on MyStore, it's not Amazon that should be concerned, it's the Dollar$Store

Nobody needs to be concerned.

Lindell will file and fade away soon enough.

He’ll be a pop up on NewsMax peddling whatever they think the right wing mob will empty their wallets for.

After that, it’s back to mattresses and used cars.

10 years selling high priced pillows...

I know!

Can you imagine?

This is a real American Dream, Rags to Riches kind of a story. A guy at rock bottom with just about nothing left in his life turns things around and makes good.

Some look at things as they are and ask "Why?". He looked at things and asked, "I wonder what I could do to help folks take a nice nap and wake up refreshed..."

All in all, a good thing.

Sorry. I stayed into the topic area of my My Pillow product review from your My Pillow marketing approaches.

I didn't mean to distract.

Mike Lindell is truly an American success story, but he should have appreciated how fortunate he was, how fragile fame is and quit while he was ahead. Instead, he involved himself with politics, he took sides, projected conspiracy theories and started to self-destruct. Mike Lendell is wearing a new 'brand' and it's no longer 'My Pillow'. The brand he's wearing now is that of a wild plot conspiracy theorist that believes our election wasn't legitimate and that it was stolen.

There's been a long-standing rule for people that have become overnight successes in business, and that is not to get involved with politics. People that buy goods such as pillows online are supporters of both parties and have completely different political opinions. Business suffers when a figure like Mike Lindell literally divides his customers and pits them against each other by speaking out publicly about his political opinions. He only managed to make half of his customer base happy, the other half, not so much.

This is very true. People who currently support him will reference his success over the last decade, but they fail to recognize that he hasn't diversified over the last decade. He is currently attempting to do so with this venture, but given its nature, it isn't likely to succeed. So without that ability to diversify, his chances of alienating half (or more) of his customers, and having only limited his own distribution capabilities (loss of retail outlet revenue), he is setting his own business up for failure. The majority of people cannot afford nor do they need pillows often enough to keep him afloat with half of his customer base gone.

You mean like educators, college athletes, pro athletes, entertainers, media types, all of the .com types and just about anyone else that has had access to a microphone for the last 20 years?

In passing, following the fear driven cancellation by the retailers, sales for My Pillow increased and the result is a backlog of orders as Lindell and his team struggle to cope with the expanded volumes.

The retailers dropping the My Pillow brand responded to make believe people created by the internet drones trying to control and terrorize.

In the mean time, real people are buying more. Sounds a little like Goya. Never bought a Goya product in my life before I was told to not buy them. Now they're in my cupboards all the time.

Go figure.

Everyone has a First Amendment right to freedom of speech, we all know that. But Mike Lindell does not have a right to perpetuate wild conspiracy theories. No, that is not part of freedom of speech. But he'll learn a lesson once Dominion takes him to the cleaners and wipes our his pillow empire.

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell Announces He's Launching 'MyStore,' a Patriotic Rival to Amazon https://www.newsweek.com/mypillow-c...nching-mystore-patriotic-rival-amazon-1583037

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell on Monday announced that he's launching "MyStore," an online marketplace for entrepreneurs that will rival Amazon, the largest global internet-based store.

Speaking on Steve Bannon's War Room: Pandemic, Lindell said, "I'm looking at another thing we're going to be launching, which is MyStore, which is a rival to Amazon."

Currently, a version of MyStore is on the MyPillow website, featuring a range of patriotic and miscellaneous products, including "Freedom Flags," "Freedom Coffee," "USA Flag Pole," and conservative books about former President Donald Trump.

Lindell boasted that his online store will include a range of products from "entrepreneurs and investors" in a video shared on the site.

"For years entrepreneurs and inventors have come to me with products and ideas. They don't know how to market them and I haven't had the time to show them. And now today, I am proud to announce this platform called MyStore.com," he said in the clip. "I am going to put vetted products from great entrepreneurs on here, like you see a sampling of them here today, that are going to change this country."

He added: "We're finally going to be able to see these products and be able to get these great entrepreneurs, their great ideas, out to you, the public."

The section of MyStore on the MyPillow website appears to have been added over two years ago. In October 2019, Lindell promoted the platform at the Made In America 2019 event.

It is unclear how the new version of MyStore will differ from the existing. Newsweek reached out to MyPillow representatives for further information about the development of MyStore.

After being banned from Twitter for promoting inaccurate election theories, Lindell announced in early March that he will be launching a new social media platform called Frank, which he claims to have been working on for several years. The site is scheduled to launch April 20 after delays.

On Saturday, Lindell sent out an email promoting his upcoming conspiracy theory documentary, Absolute Interference, which will also be released April 20. Since Trump lost the White House to Joe Biden last year, Lindell has repeatedly promoted baseless claims that the 2020 election was stolen by the Democrats.

"Mike Lindell presents Absolute Interference," the promotional email for the new video said. "The sequel to Absolute Proof with new evidence foreign & domestic enemies used computers to hack the 2020 election." Absolute Proof was released this February.

He also claimed trump would be president again by August, so I look at his claims as self aggrandizing bullshit.

I have not seen his site to have an opinion of it. His idea is solid and its been done before.

Pepsi took a market share from Coke. Fox took a market share of the cable news market. Lindell can do it if he has a good business model.
Based on a quick look at the products available on the site, it looks like he is setting up to sell products to the trump infatuated. That may be a strong business model if trumpers flock to his site to buy his junk, but what happens when donnie finds out Lindell is making money off the trump brand?

That is ridiculous. The guy should be in a mental institute if he thinks he can compete with Bezos and Amazon.
I seem to remember that Amazon lost millions in their first few years of operation, how deep are Lindell's pockets, and the pockets of his investors.

Lindell's 'Frankspeach' website is down again, only a few days after he managed to get it working. I'd advise Jeff Bezos not to throw in the towel just yet.

Why would the first amendment end at the point of speech that you disagree with?

It applies to EVERY CEO... good lord

Actually, it applies directly to the the CEO as it impacts the investors.

Is that what you were reaching for?

If yes, sales increased AFTER his comments that incited the calls for boycott and the drive to initiate and then execute the BUYcott.

His fiduciary responsibility was thus fulfilled.

This may surprise you but companies that pay CEO's vast fortunes have the expectation that the CEO won't make stupid statements that don't reflect the values of the company.
They're well within their rights to tell him or her to shut the hell up for fire him/her on the spot.

The same companies fire staff all the time for being rude to customers and Republicans back that 100% but it seems as soon as it's a CEO then you can't do anything about it at all because it's free speech.
