Dio probably above Hetfield come to think of it. Sammy from his Montrose days is up pretty high too, IMO. Ian Gillian from Deep Purple too, maybe, but definitely not above Plant and Scott.

Ian's Garden of Gethsemane is one of the great vocal rock performances ever. so is his Child in Time.
LZ opened the second night of the Cincinnati show with the Song Remains the same-maybe the single best singing effort I ever saw live. I didn't put him on my top five but a young Roger Daltrey was way way up there too.

I know he is loved by millions but I can not stand him and he has left metal long ago and even then it was hair metal which I hate.

Hetfield is the only metal singer on your list. Sammy is a crotch grabbing hair metal poser. Eddie is not a good singer in any format.

Yes they are good. I love Nightwish and there are not many good female metal singers or players out there.

Back when I was young, AC/DC was definitely metal.
