I am curious to find out if an observed trend is indeed,accurate. Please answer the following Poll question in the light of your own personal standing on this issue.

Is it OK to legislate My private descisions, in regard to sexual activity, and reproductive choices. For the benefit of this poll,assume I do not have sex with non-humans entities, nor do I Live in Utah.

Sexual activity and reproductive choices are two different things.

No I don't think private sexual activities should be legislated.

YEs I do believe some reproductive choices are harmful and therefore should be legislated (but very conservatively at the state level).

Yes the government in my opinion has every right to tell female teachers they can't take students into their bedrooms and old men can't sleep with their little girl neighbors. Spouses can't violently abuse one another just cause their in the bedroom. As far as reproductive choices I don't think the government should involve themselves in whether or not people choose to reproduce or take measures to help guard against reproduction however once a couple has reproduced and the product of that reproduction is alive and developing then I certainly tihnk the government is within reason to tell people they can't kill their offspring on the grounds of just "not wanting to reproduce" because basically they already have and what they really want is permission to kill their offspring.

I really don't care what happens between consenting adults in the privacy of their own bedroom. And I don't think there should ever be a government mandate to produce, or not produce children.

However there does need to be protection for minors and animals.

I am independent.

OK....guess the intent of the beastiality and Mormon statement wasnt clear enough.....so hows this:
Please consider your reply to this poll in the context of societal norms,and disregard the inevitable sidetrack of, animalsex, Spousal abuse, S&M, multiple partners....etc...

I don't understand what you want to debate? Laws involving the subject you discribe are not partisan. Why not pick a sexual practice you think the government infringes on and debate that? Seems like a fishing expedition without bait...

Wouldn't it be cool if your parents shared your view and bronzed your baby shoes with you in them? Perhaps you consider no morals should be involved in laws nor responsibility for personal actions that negatively affects the community...

Both children and animals are incapable of consenting to sex; therefore, any sexual act involving a child or an animal is a heinous crime.
The term "minor", in a legal context, is often used to refer to those who are over the age of fourteen, but who have not yet reached their majority (eighteen, in most legal contexts).
Most people believe that minors, unlike prepubertal children, are in fact capable of consent.
Therefore, sex with a minor is not the automatic aggravated sex felony that sex with a child is.
Most of us find the idea of middle-aged perverts slavering over our teenaged sons and daughters both morally/ethically objectionable and aesthetically repugnant, however, and so it is against the law- a statutory crime- in most states.

All that being said, I feel the question is too vague. It depends on the situation. Likewise, the poll choices are too vague as well. Because I can't very easily label myself, either. I'm conservative on some things. It depends on the issue.

I don't get it... what do you want to debate? Do you have a problem with the government now with sex in your bedroom? What exactly is the debate about? I don't get it but I wouldn't think someone with three kids would use the terms you used to discribe a new child... I found your comments rather cold and that is why I responded with equal terms. What's with the "anal" comment? If you have three kids and are concerned with the government and sex and bedroom in the same sentence I wonder about your sanity... what possible problem could you have with the government and your bedroom and sex? Well, I have two kids, and I have a problem with the government in my bedroom (or their bedrooms, for that matter).
I'd be willing to wager that everyone on this forum has a problem with "the government and sex and bedroom in the same sentence" (except you, apparently; possibly you're an exhibitionist?), regardless of how many children they have or whether they even have any at all, not excepting the conservative fundamentalists on the forum, who no doubt have as big a problem with it as any of us godless libertines; the government- permitted into their bedrooms- might prevail upon them to do something they consider immoral, such as use contraception.
