Not that this is a surprise to anyone, but a recent violent crackdown of protesters in the southern city of Dongzhou has been covered up by the Chinese government. Little mention of the incident has surfaced in any publication outside of Guangdong and keywords have been surpressed in search engines.
A human rights group has also insisted on an independent investigation, which the government has refused. While the villagers claim more were killed than have been reported in China, the full toll will likely never be known.
