They’re not on the street committing crime if they’re in prison. That’s why three strikes laws were so effective

True, but I am more interested in proactive crime prevention. Your view says, let's allow people to kill others with guns and then lock them up in prison. The social, economic and health costs are already felt and then the cycle continues. This is the definition of insanity.

No, if you throw people in prison after three felonies then most of the time they’ll be spending their life behind bars before graduating to murder.

Once again, I think that is reactive and doesn't actually solve the problem. Prison sentences don't deter people from committing gun crimes, intervention and proactive strategies do.

Your solution will do the following;
- Over populate prisons
- Not address the cyclic nature of crime and the generational challenges currently faced.

I am not again putting people in prison or harsher penalties, I am just critical of their success in this instance.
