Mueller continues to be interested in interviewing Trump

Trump has done nothing to hinder Mueller's investigation. In fact, he's done more than ANY of the past 5 Presidents have done to provide anything the investigator has wanted.

(except let the investigator trap him)

He refuses to sit down with Mueller and get this over with HENCE the running around. Trump works for the people of the US unless you think he is king and is ENTITLED to this position and above the law. Is that how you feel?

Mueller is trying to do that but trump refuses to sit down with him. Go tell your pal trump to do the interview and then maybe mueller could wrap it up. If I can recall correctly, trump said on TV (summer 2017) that he was looking forward to sitting down with mueller. Well, it’s like 18 months later. What gives, trumpo???

Exactly! How can this be "wrapped-up", without interviewing the principles:

Trump, Jr., Kushner?
It's actually easy to understand.

When your client's a pathological liar and an unconstrained conversationalists, it's insane to let that client anywhere near investigators for an interview, when other people who know the facts are spilling them.

The fact that Trump even answered the written questions was a surprise, since his legal team probably has no idea what the truth is on many of these incidents Mueller is inquiring about, but I suppose it's politically impossible for a president to categorically plead the fifth.

He should get his ass down to his Mueller interview, be honest & transparent, and let Mueller finish his job. It's that simple.

Trump works for us. Not the other way around. That seat behind that desk is his privilege, granted by us.

What do you think that Trump knows about collusion that Mueller cant learn from somebody else? Or from the written answers he submitted last month? Mueller has not charged anyone on the campaign with anything relating with collusion. What else can Trump say on the subject beyond 'fake news'?

Trump publicly attacks the Mueller investigation and tries to delegitimize the Mueller investigation constantly. He had tried to get Sessions to un-recuse himself, had fired the Director of FBI after the investigation started, had unsuccessfully ordered that Mueller be fired, and has publicly smeared witnesses throughout the investigation.

Come on. You can't say that the President has done nothing to hinder, or influence the investigation.

My response to the bolded:

"Tough!"

I don't know. I'm not Mueller.

Well, TBH, it's common sense to not answer investigators when you're under suspicion, whether you have something to hide or not.

It was a BIG mistake for Clinton to ever sit down with Starr's team, and he should have plead the fifth to avoid helping them build a case.

Well, the way I see it is:

You want to live in the People's House; you answer the People's questions. Or, GTFO!

It's simple, really.

I doubt this interview will take place because of trumps insistent lying.:2wave:

<(CNN)Special counsel Robert Mueller's team continues to be interested in interviewing President Donald Trump, two sources familiar with the matter tell CNN.>

<Mueller's stance on interviewing the President has been constant for a year and a half, one of the sources said.>

<"Nothing has changed in that sense from the first day," the source said.>

<Trump and his lawyers are still opposed to any interview.>

The President's legal team has resumed some discussion with the special counsel in the weeks since Trump responded to written questions, mostly regarding possible collusion and the period before the inauguration, the two sources said.

Mueller's interest in talking with the President is believed to include asking questions about the Trump's state of mind in regard to actions under scrutiny in the obstruction of justice probe.

The two sides agreed to hold off on discussing an interview while the President wrote responses to questions, which were returned just before Thanksgiving. That was seen as a first step to concluding more than a year of back-and-forth talks, and the President's lawyers hoped the answers would bring Mueller closer to finishing his probe.

There has been no indication that Mueller is moving to subpoena the President, one of the sources said. Asked if Mueller had follow-up questions to the President's written responses, the source declined to comment.

Individual 1 is a complete liar, and his handlers are terrified of him testifying. No worries, plenty of tapes of him doing illegal things.

Hey republicans...you elected this POS, are you proud of it?

Washington Whispers: a big fight over a subpoena in a closed session, recently. Might it be for Trump?

Why doesn't trump just be interviewed and prove the world that Mueller is wrong?

Bill Clinton, George W and Hillary Clinton have all been interviewed and investigated AT LENGTH over serious criminal allegations like lying about blowjobs....so why doesn't trump just agree to be interviewed and give Mueller a smack in the face?

The more trump refuses to co-operate and the more he LIES , the more and more he is proving he is GUILTY.

No wonder WAR HERO John McCain had such a negative opinion of the orange ***** grabber.

If Mueller's investigation depends upon a sit down with Trump, then Mueller has been wasting his time...and our money.

Well you were trying to justify why Trump should not sit for Mueller. Trump's not a private citizen. If he wants to hold the office, he should cooperate with the People's investigation. Otherwise, he don't deserve the office. It's that simple.

Bull****.

Nobody gives up the rights that every US citizen enjoys just because he's the President.

If you don't want him to hold Office, there are specific methods to stop him from doing that established in our Constitution. I suggest you use them.

If the only thing stopping Mueller from getting this over with is a sit down with the President, then Mueller should say so. I haven't heard anything like that from him...have you?

If you haven't heard that from Mueller, then you are spouting nonsense.

Moving on...

Remain calm and confident that the investigation will clear his good name would be my guess
Then why'd you make the comment you did?

That the advise you'd give a loved one? I think not.

was hoping he would act like an honest man with nothing to hide and be cooperative in the belief this investigation will reveal he has clean hands
He has given Muller everything he's asked for. Maybe it's Muller and co. that should stop acting like the attack dog of a political coup, and admit there was no collusion

Hey...ZBuckeye...welcome to the forum.

A bit of advice for you: If you are going to make claims...if you don't provide linked support for your claims...at least make claims that are NOT obviously factually wrong.

For example: You say Trump fired Comey "after the investigation started". Previously, you established you are talking about the Mueller investigation. Your contention is factually incorrect. Comey was fired May 9, 2017. Mueller was appointed Special Counsel May 17, 2017.

There are other incorrect statements in your comment, but I'll disregard them since I actually dislike kicking people when they are down.

You are dismissed.

1. Stop the incessant, crazy tweeting that portrays a guilty, paranoid man

2. Sit down with mueller so he can wrap this crap up

That would be a good start.

1. Not gonna happen

If you are referring to me, what you see here is what you would see if you saw me in real life.

I'm sure the same is true for you.

OK, thanks for that heads up.
